I am beginning to become a expert on that river since it is so close to me. I know 4 public accesses and 3 private ones that put you into a very interesting river. there are numerous holes 12+ft deep, and places where the river seems to disappear.
shame on ya'll! IMO the lower buffalo(or all of it really) is the best scenery in the ozarks.
It is a problem on norfork, two years ago a group of menonite men were chasing them up into shallow water and netting them by the dozen. I wish I had been there to see it with my own eyes, they would have got yelled at and turned in.
nope, no glass on any river under any circumstance, at least the buffalo. Unfortunetly, until I have a cannery, I will still take mason jars of canned trout with me(wrapped in cloth)
I believe the same law also banned kegs on the rivers and beer funnels.
canoes are big boats on CC, and on CC there really isnt anything that I would call frog water. There are a few stretches where there is limestone bottom a foot deep for 200yds though. For big fish I would fish anywhere between pyatt and the slab....anywhere in there will find big fish.
with most things the best way to learn is screw up. Boating is the same, just hope that when you screw up it isnt big and you are prepared(life jackets)
your motor has a starting enrichment system I believe, perhaps it isnt functioning correctly? It sounds like you need the carbs cleaned. My 25hp merc sat for a year without use and now I have to spray it with a tiny bit of ether to start it the first time for the day. After that it starts easy.
Baitcast reels are the first thing I have ever seen made to cater to lefties like me. I have always found it odd but comforting that I can always find a reel for myself wherever I go.
BTW, bass pro carries a full line of lefty reels. I am partial to the johnny morris reels(I have 8), they seem to hold up great.
I want to upgrade a few more rods to Denali's. Right now I have three: jerkbait rod, tube jig spinning rod, and a light trout jig rod. Even though my receipt from bass pro says differently, I probably have everything I need tackle-wise.
IMO what separates the NFoW from places like the white(below BS dam anyways) is most of the land is locked up because no one wants to sell it. And building a cabin right next to a river that is known for prolific flooding would be incredibly stupid(even though lots of people do it).
I think this land is a good deal for its location.
