Gavin Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'd agree with Ness and Forsythian.....Its been good dog pile....and I've had fun watching some of you put your best foot forward and stumble awkwardly...kinda like me after too much single malt while sitting around the campfire.......but, If you want to run a guide biz.......better to smile sweetly and wear beige if ya get my drift... You dont want to be the guide who takes himself too seriously...hurls insults at complete strangers on the net or on the water, blames things on the actions of other people. You dont want to be the complainer, or the messiah for any cause.... Face it.....You cant control what other people think, or say, or do, so get over it. So what if some zelmo motored up to your spot on a public water? Nothing you can do about it. Accept the things you cannot change and keep moving forward. Cheers.

Gavin, that is about the most honest post I have read... Now lets recap... 1) Pro and Guides are a waste of time... 2) Following people around the lake is good or bad, still up in the air on that one.. 3) Guide Business is for whiners and guys with big egos and wrapped boats 4) Paul is some OLD DOG that a few of you know him, I guess or maybe he just picked a name out of the air and you guys fell for it hook line and sinker.. 5) Getting information from guides besides Bill on this site might just really slow down ALOT? 6) Eric your just wasting your time and finger tips from beating on the keyboard... 7) Everyone get over it and let's just move on... 8) Dang I'm really tried of popcorn... Hey, Paul why don't you start another thread about eating fish during the spawn, that one should beat over 2500 hits in two days. Boils down to this, I get to go fishing today and get paid for it.. Members Fat Boy Posted August 11, 2009 Members Posted August 11, 2009 Men I'm tired of pop corn I need beer and peanuts. To the guides you do a great job don't let these morons get to you, they are the same ones who would bi ch if hung with a new rope. The bent rod pattern is wrong everything about it is wrong. These are the same type of man who would screw a family memeber over a dollar and cheat at a game of uno with there kids. Paul Dallas I think I no who you are if you danced with Kathy Lee you must be Reggis, if you know so much can you tell me how many people were on the grassy knoll that day in Dallas. I just got it figured out if you were in the room with Nixon you must have been the one on his knees called DEEP THROTE.
Members Troutfly69 Posted August 11, 2009 Members Posted August 11, 2009 Eric you should learn to read posts a little more thoroughly before you reply. Your reply to my post infers that I am on the side of these followers and I am not. I don't like it any more than you do but I have learned to live with it. If you're trying to say that it happens to you more simply because you're a guide, I beg to differ. I get crowded out of spots almost every time I hit our local tailwaters. Start catching fish and someone will inevitably crowd you out. The difference is I don't put on my skirt and complain about it on a fishing forum and then whine because not everybody feels sorry for me. I may mumble some unfriendly words under my breath and then I move and let the offender have my spot , he's not going to ruin my day. Honestly if you think this will ever go away you're very naieve , the lake will only continue to get more crowded with fisherman and a portion of these people will be idiots that have no common decency or consideration for others. And by the way I've also had the shoe on the other foot and been crowded out of a spot I was fishing by a guide because he felt he had more right to it than I (I assume because he was "working" and I'm just playing around). My suggestion.....don't bite the hand that feeds you or you very well may starve!! Jeff H.

Thank you for the skirt, whine, naieve and feel sorry for me comments. Did you get every insult you wanted in? If not you can in your reply. Apparently it did ruin your day if your still talking about a guide that moved you off your spot. Don't look to close in the mirrror you may see yourself in that skirt.... Don nailed it: To you Pros and Guides are whiners and this is a waste of time Stone 9-7=2 : We have a winner! I suppose your point is that all of us non-guides wish we were in your shoes? I've got some news for you -- I fish for fun, and I enjoy what I do for a living (and it's not fishing). If you're living your dream, that's wonderful. But don't make the arrogant assumption that all the rest of us are jealous. John
