WOW, I am glad I stick with creek fishing. I don't see anybody all day.

Except for the Mexicans and Rednecks. B) No disrespect to anyone. I've been called a Redneck and my wife is a quarter Mexican.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Yeah, it's been a hoot.

I can't help but notice that the Rock-On boys spent most of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday playing on their computers.

Who got all the trips THIS weekend I wonder ? :D

Peace, Wrench

Hell, all we do is fish and post reports. Maybe though we should start some controversy. It does seem to get a lot of looks. :(

That is only on the Elk though. And you can tell from our reports....we don't fish there. And I won't as long as it is the season for the Freak Parade.

Capt. D,

I'm with Joe. Don't let a couple of numbnuts run you off. You contribute much to this forum and like Joe said, it's appreciated by 99% of the folks here. Heck, make that 100%. The few numbnuts that troll by and try to spoil things don't count. As for the rest of us, we'd hate to see you go.

I meant no disrespect, either. I was just responding to your comment that apparently guides do not fish for fun and asked if you have fun, too. Chill out....and thanks for sharing your involvement with kids and the critically ill. I am a dad of Downs Syndome son, so I can kind of relate.....

Take care,

Thanks for that Joe.

For the record, I didn't mean that guides don't fish for fun, just that I *only* fish for fun. Sorry if I mistook your question as a challenge -- that was a little carryover from the earlier post.

FWIW, and as an explanation of why I'm even involved in the thread, I think the guiding business is pretty interesting. It's a service, and you're working with a wide range of personalities and trying to make all of them happy. No matter how good you are, you're gonna have trips that don't produce well -- and that ain't easy. Having some dolt follow you around and take a shortcut to finding fish isn't fun, but it's part of the deal.

So you know where I'm coming from, maybe a little: Last month I fished with a guide in Tennessee with my two 13-year old sons. One guide, three clients, two of which have the attention span of a gnat. We were fly fishing for trout in Great Smoky Mtn. National Park, and early that morning there was a huge thunderstorm that blew out all the streams in the area and knocked out the power. That was the only day we could fish, so we couldn't reschedule. Pretty tough set up, right?

He spent a bunch of time working with the boys, and when they lost interest he worked with me. He helped me on a particular technique (very long roll casts with a heavy fly) which was really beneficial. As we drove around looking for fishable water, and there was lots of that, he kept us entertained with stories about the locals and the history of the area. If you boiled this trip down to the numbers, it worked out to about $20 per inch of fish caught. So, was it a bust? Hell no it wasn't a bust, and I let him know that.

So, the moral to my story, if you're still reading, is I've got a lot of respect for you guys and what you do.

Take care, and thanks again.

John

How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait! rtj4bb.gif

Ahh Wrench...

Glad to see you could attempt one more dig before ya said Peace, nice....

For the record this was the last five days for me:

Friday: Guided out of Cape Fair 1/2 day - not bad, around 25 fish I think 6 or 8 keepers

Saturday: T director for KAST Kid's Tournament out of Ahoy's - good time was had by all - No trip due to duty to KAST and the kids

Sunday: 1/2 Day on Taneycomo, 28 fish, 8 over 14" that were taken home by my clients

Monday: Trip was rained out (most of my posts were on Monday)

Tuesday: Day off to get work done around the house, should of booked a trip but needed to get yard work done.

Today: Last minute morning trip out of Aunt's Creek, 28 fish 9 keepers

How, where, when?

Maybe later when I'm done being a Rock-On boy......

But your right, we Rock-On boys spent the weekend posting.......

See Ya!!!!!!!
