fishinwrench Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Oh, I'm quite full of it, I freely admit. Me too, and take pride in it
ness Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I've always liked this story.. http://www.whiteriver.net/northfork/manleys.htm Record fish usually dont come to those who want them the most. And thats a good thing...I also see no reason to knock any of the folks who have been unfortunate enough to catch one...Seems that somebody will always find fault with your catch, or fault you for taking it home...Plain Silliness, IMO. Life gets a heck of alot easier if you dont take it to seriously..Quit trying to find fault, and be glad for other folks when good things happen to them. Cheers. Ahem! Corn and marshmallows, fished from a dock...how positively boorish! Grandfather said this would occur when fishing was allowed among the hoi polloi. John

Manley's Record Trout Hit On First Cast by Steve Wright from his book Ozark Trout Tales "The International Game Fish Association didn't recognize Manley's fish because it was caught on the combination of a treble hook and bait." What a bunch of jerks.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 10, 2009 Root Admin Posted December 10, 2009 I still think we need to blame the fish for our differences...

FishinCricket Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Me too, and take pride in it Maybe, with enough practice, I can be full of it too? Just maybe? :fingerscrossed: cricket.c21.com
vanven Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 "Powerbait is for fat kids and old people." I said that once upon a time. It was funny and seemed fitting. It was more of a rhetorical comment on how funny the whole debate was. To each his own and good luck to them as well. Personally I release every fish. I would undoubtedly release a state or world record. I would take some pics and hopefully have a replica mount made that would sit in the garage and gather dust since my wife would smother me in my sleep if I brought it in the house, plastic or not. I am the type that would spend 5 hours reviving a fish. -Jerod
