fishinwrench Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 And whether the landowner was aware or not, he is criminally and civilly liable for anything that takes place on the property. Serves him right! Serves him right ? Where'd you get your first sip of alcohol from ? It blows me away that the same type of people that support that kind of justice are the same ones that will call family services on someone for delivering a well deserved swat to their kids behind, or forcing them to do extra chores as a punishment. Where's the balance of compassion there ? Or is it just about sticking your nose in someone elses business... because you can ?
FishinCricket Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Real property is seized all of the time through state courts. You just don't hear about it. Whether it be a meth house, coke house, or any other drug or criminal matter that takes place on a piece of property. If law enforcement responds to it a couple of times, an affadavit can be signed attesting to the number of criminal related calls that had taken place on the property. And whether the landowner was aware or not, he is criminally and civilly liable for anything that takes place on the property. Serves him right! Spose that's all fine and well as long as we can apply that same logic in all cases.. Who owns the Kemper arena, anyways? cricket.c21.com

ozark trout fisher Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I'd always seen the sign for Camp Zoe along 19 and wondered what the deal was (and now I also know where the loud music was coming from whenever I'd camp anywhere near Round Spring)...Sounds like the people were causing some problems, but then so are the people at Round Spring CG. You can't tell me that a joint never gets smoked on the National Park Service property. A drunken flotilla on a national river is probably a bigger problem than some hippies partying it up on private land. But I have no idea about exactly what went on there, having never really known what the place was about until today.
Danoinark Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Fellows. I need everyone to be a bit more considerate of the language being used in this thread. I have had to do some editing in others of late. If you think some of the words used in any of your posts are questionable please edit them. Members ladykiller Posted November 16, 2010 Members Posted November 16, 2010 Then you, of all people, should know... http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php Cricket, I really don't care what goes on in this guy's field. I don't have a dog in the fight. The guy could be the nicest fella in the world, but if you're throwing festivals on your farm and the place is known (personally don't know) for this kinda stuff then you betcha someone is going to be watching especially if there have been multiple complaints. The law is what it is. I don't know what your link leads to because the internet filter here apparently doesn't like it. From what google indicated it was an article about LE wanting drugs to be legalized or de-criminalized. My personal thought on the matter is, I don't care. To each their own, but that being said, the law is what it is right now. Spirited conversation fellas. Everyone have a good night.

FishinCricket Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I don't know what your link leads to... LEAP is an Organization, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. From the link: Founded on March 16, 2002, LEAP is made up of current and former members of law enforcement who believe the existing drug policies have failed in their intended goals of addressing the problems of crime, drug abuse, addiction, juvenile drug use, stopping the flow of illegal drugs into this country and the internal sale and use of illegal drugs. By fighting a war on drugs the government has increased the problems of society and made them far worse. A system of regulation rather than prohibition is a less harmful, more ethical and a more effective public policy. cricket.c21.com
Mitch f Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Why, that's a novel idea... Mind suggesting that to the Mitch on page 1 that was posing all those wacky scenarios? That guy was definitely jumping to some uneducated conclusions... The problem I see is that you are operating under the assumption that you saw smoke... I would gladly wait to see the evidence but it doesn't sound like the state will need to prove its case, eh? Wacky scenarios? You have proof that there was no wrong doing? All I'm saying is that they wouldn't have seized anyone's property without something going on. That's not a wacky scenario. Is your opinion more educated than mine because you have no proof either way? lighten up "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
