In Reference To Many Of The Conservation Topics

This forum is more than just a "fishing only forum" and should have been renamed to Ozark Outdoors a long time ago to reflect what it represents. Phil has tried the offshoots, a Hunting forum that failed and a broader Mid States Angler that fizzled too. Nobody seemed to stray away from this forum. So it covers Hunting, Fishing, Conservation, and other outdoor related topics. And sometimes a little humor.

If we were just to post fishing reports, I really don't think there would be much interest. If you post a report that crappie are hitting good at X spot, tomorrow, you will probably have to go somewhere else because many will be fishing the X spot. I think many on here have learned that lesson. Trip reports, methods, lures, tactics are something entirely different. Lures and tactics will always lead to discussions, probably some you don't want to hear.

Personally, I think things would be pretty bland on here if we only discussed fishing reports.

I agree JD.

Personally, I think that the "my scientists are smarter than your scientists" arguments are silly and childish. When it progresses to the "shut your big fat mouth" stage, the red x needs to appear. Some folks need to learn about self control.

If people would stick to adding either their opinion or more facts to threads instead of spending their time trying to tear down, villify, or otherwise intimidate or bully other people, then maybe threads wouldn't have to go there. I don't troll other people's threads and try to hijack them with nonsense, maybe if everyone conducted themselves in that manner we wouldn't have as many 'disagreements'.

You left out one. And probably the most important one. And that would be not fabricate objectivity and then pass it off as fact. And while doing so, trying to tear down, villify, or otherwise intimidate or bully other people.

I Fish,Hunt,Garden and Forage for our food it don't matter to me if some want to look down their Nose as to what I eat or How I get it.This is the way I was raised. If it's Legal and it bothers them that's their problem.

As far as this Forum I'll post on whats going on at the water I fish or the Woods I hunt.

oneshot, I admire you on you honesty, and sincerity. You are one of the many "true people" on this forum!

As for those few who troll for a response, and use this and probably many other outdoor forums to espouse their agenda, I have learned what usernames to ignore posts from.

Real men go propless!

And I'll buy JD a cup, since apparently we don't disagree on everything.

And I'll buy anybody a POT of coffee if they want to get me out of the house and go fishing.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

I agree, fish is food. If anyone has a problem with that, too bad. Saying that, I don't keep any Largemouth over 15" or any Smallmouth at all. I also release unharmed immediatly any fish I'm releasing.
