Members Engr5 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Members Posted November 15, 2011 Thank you all for the help and advice. I had jumped out and bought several mcsticks on sale last year and was thinking of selling them to pay for some 110's as I just haven't thrown the spros at all- but I'll wait and give them a try. Thanks, Jim
edwin Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Bill - great info on the comparison between the two. I used to catch lots and lots of fish on the Rogue, but really prefer fishing the McStick for one reason - it casts better for me in the wind. I catch about the same numbers on each but there's no comparison between how they fly through the air. "Advantages are taken, not handed out"

Thanks, Jim Had good luck with the X-Rap (Green something or other color?) last Winter and early Spring. Got on the McStick and did okay, too, but to me they are too light and I tend to overwork them. But the 2 biggest fish I caught last year were both on an old BTS (you figure it out)silver and black rogue with some solder wrapped around the hook shanks, and some of that golf club weighted tape on the belly for added weight. If this Rogue was human, he might be old enough to vote?
Larry Richards Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 If you want a Jerkbait that will truely suspend without having to weight the hooks or use suspend strips, you may want to look at going to an Ima Flit 120 over a Megabass or McStix. The IMa's are better in cold water anyhow, when you need a less aggressive action. They also run a little deeper than the vision or mcstix.
Ham Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 No one jerkbait is going to suspend perfectly throughout the cooling water season. ie water temp and resulting water density changes affect if a bait suspends. Lots of really good baits out there. I suggest everyone go buy several of each in every color available. That way we can all be so confused about what to try first and how long to fish it without changing that we will never get any fishing done at all. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Cajunangler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed or maybe something yellow ended up in your Cheerios? Sometimes it is better to take a deep breath and push the keyboard back. Just saying, don't let the chatter get to you like it has others in the past.
emjay Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 What about them good ole' X-Raps. They are my go-to for jerkbait season.

abkeenan Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Collecting and buying lures is a disease. To me its like women with shoes. You can't just have one pair or one color. I have rogues, x-raps, pointers and mcsticks currently. Im too cheap to pay the $30 for the vision 110s and now I see that I MUST have the Luck E Strike Rick Clunn stick. My life wouldn't be complete if I didn't. If my fiance didn't here the term "wiggle wart" for the rest of her life she would be a very happy lady. I guess being addicted to tackle is better than being addicted to something else. That's the story I'm sticking too anyways.

Don't feel bad, I just started with my anual go through all that fishing junk and get rid of what you don't use anymore and I have allready found a number of 'when the heck did I buy this' lures. So I am swearing off buying any new lures, oh wait a drop shot hook that is hooked up with a swivel system, wait that's not really a lure and they only cost $4.00 a packsge and I'll only need 2 or 3 pkgs of each of the six different sizes and wow those are some great looking hand poured drop shot worms here and whats that over there........
