gotmuddy Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I could certainly meet up with yall for a sunday float or monday, Depending on the water levels there are a couple really good creeks nearby. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
LittleRedFisherman Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Talking about small creeks in Arkansas, one that I think is a sleeper is Martins Creek between Ravenden and Hardy. I waded about a half mile of it several years ago with a good friend, and was amazed with the bass we caught, smallmouth and largemouth. I'd love to float it someday in a canoe and fish my way down. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
ColdWaterFshr Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I would be up for it, but it will probably be late June before I can get away. Son is playing baseball and we've got tournaments up the wazoo till mid-June.
exiledguide Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 If you want to float the River Des Peres I think I can get you permission to use the RDP Yacht Club Harbor.......
Mark Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Great thread. I need to expand my horizons. I am in hte habit of floating the same river. Need to do the Buffalo.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 If you want to float the River Des Peres I think I can get you permission to use the RDP Yacht Club Harbor....... :-) LMAO Probably catch a few browns, I have second hand info that they are good that time of year. ;-) Never been able to fish that one, pretty exclusive from my understanding. Back to the real topic. You guys have a neat idea with a community float. I would like to attend for a day or two, if I can make it happen. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Members Ultralance12 Posted March 16, 2012 Members Posted March 16, 2012 Kings River--I've never floated the upper sections. I haven't floated a ton in my life but did this one last year. It was epic. The bluffs were amazing and I highly recommend that you do this one. We didn't see another canoe or kayak the entire 3 day trip.
Mitch f Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 OK, we've talked about it...now the dates are rapidly approaching. Who's in? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Al Agnew Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 I'm not sure at this point...I have a chance to float the Smith River out here in Montana the first part of June. It's the premier wilderness river in Montana and requires a permit to float it, and the permits are by lottery. A friend got a permit and Mary and I are invited along. We haven't quite decided to do it yet, though.
Greasy B Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 OK, we've talked about it...now the dates are rapidly approaching. Who's in? I'm in. But if I had to choose between Kings River Ar and Smith River Mt I'm afraid Montana would win. Smith River has always be on my life list but the hassle of permitting and the cost of hiring an outfitter kind if pushed it to the back burner. I always looked at Smith as being the Jacks Fork of Montana but like every thing else out west on a much larger scale. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw.
