Didn't read the book -- didn't know there was a book.

I really liked the movie though. The girl -- whose name escapes me -- did a real nice job. And, I like a dark drama now and again.

The book was based on the novel of the same name by Daniel Woodrell. I've several of his books, Tomato Red, Death of Sweet Mister, etc. He has nine books and one group of short stories call the Outlaw Album. He is from and resides in West Plains as far as I know.

I like his style of writing. If you liked the movie you should check out some of his stuff. The majority of his work is set in the Ozarks. The movie Ride with the Devil was based on his novel "Woe to Live on"

The leading role in Winters Bone was Jennifer Lawrence (Bill Engvall show, Hunger games)

Yeah -- Jennifer Lawrence. I knew she was in Hunger Games. I've heard of Ride With the Devil -- sounds like my kinda stuff. Thanks for the info -- I'm gonna check this out.

F&F - darn you are quite the detective! Agree 100%. looks like a great picture of a ML placed in a backyard shot.

I could have bought it had it been off a home security camera system or even if the game cam would have been placed the way just about everyone i know places them overlooking a feed/water source. But come on its faced down directly at the cat, and looks like the cats been placed in the video based off the fuzz on the cat and around it, when the rest of the scene is in clear focus. Might as well have been Bigfoot in the picture IMO.

But wait, 'faced down directly at the cat'? Where else would it be facing? And, cats is fuzzy by nature.

Only fuzzy after they rolled in the laundry lint <sp>

You know the proper way to give a cat a bath dont you?

If not

1 open toilet lid

2 put soap in toilet

3 pick up cat and carress and talk nice to

4 Drop cat in toilet closing lid very fast

5 Sit on lid no need to flush as the cat will aggitate

6 Have someone open all doors to the house exiting to back yard

7 Flush toilet 7 times for luck ( rinse cycle )

8 Stand to side of toilet with garbage can lid between you cand toilet for protection

9 Open lid and look out. as cat runs through house to open door and outside to dry off

This debate makes no sense to me. It's obvious that there is what appears to be a light. There is also some dark object not likely to be seen in the woods and something the cat is walking away from, bait maybe, right behind it. I suppose the thinking is that a cat would never come close to civilization, but since we have taken it to them they don't seem to have any great fear of it.

The cat tracks on my property in OR were about 50' from the house and passed between a shop and a horse barn, not really wilderness. We lived on the high desert and rainfall was scarce so tracks were also. The cats could have passed a lot more often then I knew.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I was thinking the large dark object/feed trough/Water bucket etc. was a fire pit. I agree that the cat seems to be layered into the picture. Fun topic none the less.
