The article in the newspaper said the changes were to help the cooks. When I showed it to my wife she said a few things about housewives knowing what a pork chop is and what a pork steak is and other things concerning the food industry that I'm not allowed to print here and how we need to clean the gene pool................I'm just glad they are leaving Bratwurst and Italian sausage and Kielbasa alone.

I really don't pay attention to the label as much as the looks of the cut of meat. But the old cuts did suggest where on the animal the meat portion came from. And I can remember pork chops were pork chops 50 years ago, not much has changed except mine used to come out of white freezer paper with a wax pen label. I even remember what the pig looked like as it was growing up.

It took me a long time to get used to eating store bought meat. When we butchered the meat was so much better. We smoked our hams and bacon. As a kid, about the only meat we bought was a pound of hamburger every now and then when mom was in a hurry and could not thaw any out fast enough.

When I was living in Washington State, no one would buy Chum salmon, Chums direct from salt water aren't bad, but they have a bad reputation as once they move into the rivers they quickly start to deteriorate. So the fishing industry decided to rename them "Silver Brite" salmon. You have to be wary when buying salmon, especially when it's named something that's not an identifiable species. They are also trying to rename those flying carp that are infesting Midwest rivers, people won't buy or eat anything labeled "carp".

KFC just announced they are removing all bones and going all boneless so they are easier to eat. Why don't they just give us a blender and a funnel???

Chicken McNuggets are more corn than chicken. As it is now a name is not a description it's a marketing label. We really can't trust any of the food manufactures.

Now far as other Meats around my place all is Deboned and called meat.Makes life simple.
