Flysmallie Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Come on now Scott, be logical about this. Quitting something you love because of some db's is stupid. Golf? Really? Yeah that's going to fill the gap. I really don't know what you expected from the MDC. It is part of the government so nothing really surprises me. I mean this is the same government that allowed EBT food stamp cards to be used in casinos and strip clubs. I would really like to know what they said though. I think it needs to be taken to a person higher in the state if they just absolutely refuse to do anything.
cnr Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I will go $650 on the Coosa. :-) But, don't do it. Keep your gear and keep fishing. Don't let a few bad people ruin your passion for a sport you love.
Gavin Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 He will change his mind in a couple days...better grab what you can now.
ness Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Alright Smallie -- what did the MDC agent tell you? Be as vague as as you feel is right, if that's what's holding you back. We're kinda left to assume he said 'nobody cares about small mouth, just leave us alone.' John
mic Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I talked to Smallie... and I think the big sale is off (darn I needed the kayak). I told him he is wound to tight, oops, mean he is to passionate. Anyway, no big consperacy just that the government is working the issue at multiple levels. Think he was pissed when he found out that the guy would get a ticket. Tried to explain the save the big stuff (revoking priviledges) for the commerical guys and folks caught multiple times. Anyway, let's all give Smallie an eHug .... Oh I kill me. MIC
mic Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 If he just got a ticket, it just means he won't be stupid enough to post it on Facebook again. I really doubt it would stop him from doing it again. Grandma used to say... Can't fix stupid. We can hope for the best... maybe a little financial education might work. I don't speed anymore.
ness Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 There's more to the story. What do we gotta do to get it -- start making some calls? John
MOsmallies Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 Even if he does just get ticketed, remember that.... - The agents and MDC have his name and license number to keep an eye out for him. - Several campgrounds and river accesses that he was using to do these illegal activities also have his information and I would assume will deny him access to their land in the future. - Getting caught even if it's just a simple fine... will hopefully make him think twice in the future. I'm hopeful that our efforts on this particular case won't be for nothing and we may have been able to prevent some of these instances from happening again in the future. I'm sure I'm being naive, but if we can stop one more person from doing this in the future than we've made a positive impact in some fashion.
