fishinwrench Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I went thru a phase not long ago where I got a burr under my saddle and wanted to move my business and life more towards the TR area, but after some study and honest consideration I realized that I was exactly where I belong. The lower and mid-lake 'high use area' of the lake is not where I would want to fish even if it wasn't a "high use" area, (except for Winter) so I'm not effected by that at all. I was extremely stressed out over water quality problems here but I feel confident now that we've already survived the worst it will ever be and it will slowly (albeit VERY SLOWLY) improve in the future. I can't see it taking another nosedive ever.
Members kirbydog Posted August 15, 2013 Author Members Posted August 15, 2013 Thanks guys. Lake OZ during the colder months has always been (for me anyway) a great lake to fish a finesse jig. I consider myself good with a jig but just don't seem to have the patience to pause a jerkbait for 30+ seconds. Guess I'm gonna have to learn to slow down with a jerk as I've always read thats the best thing you can throw during the winter.
fishinwrench Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 LMAO! Don't believe everything you read or hear. NOBODY pauses a jerkbait for as long as they claim to. Including the guys that took your money last Winter

Including the guys that took your money last Winter I totally agree, unless they remove their hand from the reel handle its going to twitch and cranks soon....it's DNA. LOL. 30 seconds my arse "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Jerry Rapp Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 +100 while you are pausing, others are jerking away and catching. LMAO! Don't believe everything you read or hear. NOBODY pauses a jerkbait for as long as they claim to. Including the guys that took your money last Winter
Members Tearin Up Topwater Posted August 16, 2013 Members Posted August 16, 2013 Aren't there "quiet" stretches of LOTO? Places the ski-jets and boat-jerks don't normally go?
fishinwrench Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Aren't there "quiet" stretches of LOTO? Places the ski-jets and boat-jerks don't normally go? Jet ski's (PWC) can go anywhere, and "boat-jerks" can go anywhere that "boat-cool guys" can go. But as a general rule things calm down above the free bridges.
DChance Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Here's my take. TR - less traffic and a beautiful lake/area. Have to be able to fish deep to be successful all year. and by deep it could mean like 80ft of water. Can't live on lakefront, docks are valuable. LOZ--waaaay too busy BUT. where else does it take 20lb sacks to win a tourney all year round consistently? one of the best bass fisheries in the country but very busy. Great crappie and catfishing too. can live on the lake. dock may be easier to come by. probably have more developed communities etc. closer by. going to be expensive to get a desireable place there. fishing Deep means 30-40ft not 80. either way, you are in a win win. I envy you even having this as a "problem"
