Ham Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I had a lengthy list of fishing goals in 2013. Not everybody understands why I set goals for myself or maybe they do, but don't approve of fishing goals in general. I've succeeded in most of them including catching >3000 fish for the year. Not bad for a guy that works full time. The other thing I was really happy with was not zeroing on any trip this year. I'll end up fishing ~ 90 trips this year and every trip I caught at least a fish. My biggest fail was not catching at least 100 fish every month. I failed to catch 100 fish in March 2013. Weather screwed me over. I wasn't able to get out in the trout boat. It was often Too windy or too cold to really get it done. In 2014, it's gonna be a lot more simple. I have one goal . I want to catch 52 species of fish on a hook and line. I'll try to get a photo of each species I catch. It's a pretty goofy idea that should be a lot of fun for me. Without fishing saltwater, that's almost impossible, but I'm gonna try my best. I may be begging some of you to help a brother out so that I can chase some fish not locally available. I hope 2014 is a happy and successful year for you all. God Bless and Good Fishing! Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
fishinwrench Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Consider yourself sponsored. Just let me know when you're trying for the Musky and I'll fed-ex you a beer.
laker67 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Hey good luck on that quest. If one of the 52 include a trout of midget proportions, look no further than bssp.
Mitch f Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 My goal is to get out as often as I can and still maintain domestic tranquility at home. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
podum Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 "a beer" wrench? Economy of scale demands at least a sixer. I'll subsidize if he's serious about a musky and there are pix I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 My goal is to get out as often as I can and still maintain domestic tranquility at home. I believe this would be mine as well Mitch.... There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
bfishn Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 You've inspired me sir. I too now have a '14 goal... ...naming 52 species. :-) I can't dance like I used to.
countryred Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I used to set goals like that back in my tournament days....20 lb stringers, numbers of fish 5 plus,...wins etc... I don't know if I have caught 52 species in my life in Missouri waters... Muskies might be one of tougher ones,,,but last time I was on Hazel Creek I had 4 on.....
