Found this in the police reports.

• 9:47 p.m. A caller near Longridge Lane and Murphy Drive said the caller's vehicle was being attacked by a large pig with an ear tag. Officers were unable to locate the pig and the juvenile pig that was with it.

• 10:15 p.m. Police located the two pigs on Elvendon Drive. The pigs were killed by police after the animals destroyed property, killed a cat and chased after officers.

My next door neighbor has a house in Bella Vista and lief just a short while ago for there. Wild hog problem covers a lot of the country. I think they are about as dangerous as anything out there.

large pig with an ear tag.

Don't think they're tagging the wild ones. Pigs are like cats, if they wander off they will survive just fine.

This one sounds strange however because they aren't normally aggressive unless the are defensive of piglets.

Does NWA have a population of feral pigs?

The whole area of southern Missouri, northern Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma has had a good sized population for decades. All this area was free range at one time. I'm not sure when free range was abolished in most of the area, but I do remember it was ended in Oklahoma as late as the 60's.

I'd say a hair jig tied with rabbit fur, soaked in truffle sauce. And a size 8 treble stinger. 100% fluoro leader tied to braid!
