time will tell how well they hold up. Another forum that I frequent doesn't give the Lews as many accolades as you folks. Shimano quality is tough to beat.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Lew's, Jason if you have time you'll have to know what you think of them compared to your Curados.

Jerry. I have 7 curados to keep. The lews has a big hill to clump to pass them.

I will say I like my E7 Curado just a little more than my Lew's but that is no knock on Lew's (I have 4 of them obviously for a reason). Just love that little Shimano green tank. Lew's is the best thing going for the price right now. I will say I had my hands on the Daiwa Tatula a few weeks ago at BPS in STL and they reminded me A LOT of the E series Curado's. Seemed like they were built really well just like the pre G series Curados. Might want to take a look into them if you are in the market for a new baitcaster.

I got rid of 2 Curados for the cheap 79 dollar Lews...And not the least bit mad about it. Just got a Lews BB1 last summer and it is a fine machine

I bought one of the 79.99 Lews Laser MG's when BassTackleDepot had a 25% off sale and they are decent for the price. I wouldn't buy another one for the simple fact that the frame is made of graphite instead of aluminum like the rest of the Lew's reels and I have found when fighting a fish there is a little bit of flex on the reel. I don't like that but its not a huge deal. Still pretty nice for a cheaper reel. Spend the extra $20 at least and get the $99.99 Speed Spool or one of the step ups from them.
