97procraft Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 After reading the boat ramp post in the LOZ forum it got me thinking. Is there any ice on the rock. If so, where and how bad?
ozarksfishin Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Most of the coves up around Shell Knob had ice on them last week. Put in at the bridge and ran down the lake a little ways. Pulled into a cove only to find 2\3 of it iced over. Ice was probably 1 1\2 in thick. OAF Contributor Phillip Stone http://ozarksfishin.com
Dutch Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I was on the rock a few days ago. Flat was iced in the am but cleared. Cape Fair cove was clear as were both ramps at Bridgeport. The back of JL hollow had lots of ice from the first dock all the rest of the way back. I some ice in the mouth of Wolly. Didn't see any ice in the mouth of Buzzard but didn't go up in it. Some friends of mine had to break ice to get a boat out of Mill Creek.

Quillback Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 it's unbelievable this year, looking out at the 10 day forecast, there's little relief in sight.
96 CHAMP Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 This weather gives us plenty of time to go through all of are gear and be prepared for when it is time to get out

But for crying out loud, it should be 50's in mid-February.
Old plug Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 the ice on LOZ will get to be pretty thick over this next week.as of right now the Gravois main channel is open from Mill Creek Cove on down.but I have seen it feeze over in about 30-45 minute if the wind stops.
