ness Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Yeah, gimme jerky, dried sausage, something other than those little gray turds in a can that leave an oil slick on the roof of my mouth. John
jdmidwest Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 When it is nice and cold in a duck blind, the goo gels and you can just flick it out of the can like a booger. moguy1973 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I wonder if the Chipotle, the Buffalo, and the Hot and Spicy all taste the same. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Kayser Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Schneider's in Waterloo, IL might be closer than St. Libory. They do make their own smoked snacks (sticks, sausages, jerky, etc), and process deer as well. Brats are made fresh, and have repeatedly won "Best of IL" at the state competitions. I think Miller's Meat Market in Red Bud has mainly local livestock, though, if you can add another 25 min to the drive. But don't quote me on it. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
mjk86 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Nothing better than "mechanically separated meat by-product"!
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Untouched by human hands. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
jdmidwest Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 No human hands unless the butchers lose one chopping up things. Mini dogs are made of the stuff they scoop off the floor in the processing plant and I am sure they use a shovel. Mitch f Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 A while back we talked about all the Vienna Sausage flavors. I have been going to take a pic of some of them for a while now. So here you go. image.jpg Sorry it turned on me. When I eat those, more than the picture turns on me. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Flysmallie Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 When I eat those, more than the picture turns on me. Consider it a cleanser.
