I know... got to have thick skin to post on a forum sometimes.

May be, just may be, everyone is out today fishing. Yes it's warm but blue bird, blue sky day and little wind. All you're doing to get is a sun burn!

I was hoping to get out and do some fishing this past weekend, but it didn't pan out. I'll have something to post for sure after next weekend. Speaking of having tough skin, mine should be nearly leather by now after hanging out in the small mouth section of this forum for the past several months. I realized that releasing big fish, only keeping what I can use and trying to instill those values in to other anglers is just a big cover up. I'm really the most unethical bass fishermen alive due to being related to certain types of people of which I have no control over, partaking in the annual fall ritual of gigging suckers and for being a young man who owns a jet boats and likes to catch bass on our Ozark streams. :secret-laugh:

Actually I think it is more likely guys are tired of being abused about everything they report when they do report. A nice report about a guy having a great time fishing for bass with his dad turns into a debate about fishing in pay lakes and put and take fishing. Somebody else posts about smallmouth fishing on the Gasconade and it turns into a rant about gigging. (Not that I am for gigging gamefish. Don’t want to rile anybody up). Seems like you can’t post where you caught your fish, what you were using, or anything related to your outing without one of the regulars going off about it. Hardly worth posting knowing someone will come back with something negative.

Yeah I know it’s a public forum so you have to expect some abuse. Well actually you don’t. You can just not post anything or go somewhere else to do it.

I just ignore the old grouchy guys who think they are gods gift to the fishing world. One thing is for sure, if you want to thicken up your skin, just go hang out in the smallmouth section of this forum for a while. That'll do it!

I would imagine tomorrow morning would be an excellent time to be out. A low in the middle 40's has got to get some fish moving a little bit into some shallower water and being a little more aggressive. You're right though, lots of lurkers and not lots of contributors. I always figured if I posted pictures of my stringers of smallmouth I would get banned, especially when using live bait, lol.

Crappie were biting at Kentucky Lake this weekend, 20 ft of water and on spider rigs. Not for me, but for my friends.

I thought about getting out Sat, but there was a huge pile of snow in front of the boat and it started raining at 10. Did not feel like moving the snow again, it was froze pretty hard.

Guilty as charged.

Addendum: Blazerman, after 209 posts, you are hardly a neophyte, Not a "regular" per se , in terms of number of posts, which, I assume, is your implication. And the perceived cynicism and negativity that goes with it. A majority of my posts can be presented as "Exhibit A" as it were.

However, the reality is that most posts on this forum are met with enthusiasm, humor, information and good will. There are certainly some subjects that are flashpoints for spirited debate. But, while some subjects consume and focus much discussion among a passionate minority, the reality is, that we are all here for you.

Fishing is fun.

Post em up...Wish I had a report to share but work, work, work...Saw some resident geese crapping in the Tilles Park pond on the way to work this AM.Ice is all but gone. Looked like a fellow caught a trout while I waited in traffic on my way to Clayton. Private pond fishing should get good soon.
