Chief Grey Bear Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Are they really better than other marabou? Why? Dutch Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I have not heard of them. In fact I didn't know people still used marabou.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 11, 2014 Root Admin Posted March 11, 2014 I sell 15,000 marabou jigs annually. I use twice that many...
Quillback Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Chief - they've got a flattened head, so they wobble through the water when moved, different action than a round head jig. I'd think they'd work well on the smallie streams. They sure do work for trout.
Ham Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I've used both and the PJ's seem to hang a little bit more and the Zig Jig has a Mustad Black Nickle hook that is better than most. One will fail every now and again, but I often catch more than 50 fish on one jig so I think they're pretty darn durable. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. fishinwrench Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 The jig head causes it to wiggle? What "shape" is it?
Gavin Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 It's similar to an aspirin head. And a tad lopsided. Pretty easy to mod a ball head to do same with a pair of smooth jaw pliers or a hammer.
