Old plug Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Hopfully with the big bass bash on LOZ this weekend the spectater boats won't be a problem for these guys.
Ham Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 It is an ugly trend that ppl are so quick to think someone is a being less than truthful if the poster is on a better bite than most. I had a really, really good day yesterday on a local lake that I'm not even going to talk about because no one else is on it and I don't want to be called a liar AGAIN. Members tpierce Posted April 3, 2014 Members Posted April 3, 2014 They are catching them big time right now according to my brother who is a camera boat.... Will be interesting.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 3, 2014 Root Admin Posted April 3, 2014 I'm going to address this issue later today in a well thought out post (don't have time right now). The issue of calling out a person on a public forum is pretty serious. Fishing is fishing... if someone has a banner day while everyone else is not - and this happens! - who is anyone to call that person a liar? Now if someone posts an exaggerated fishing report (God forbid!!!) - so what?! Where's the line you step over to be called a "fisherman" or a "liar"? No one has the right to police fishing reports and judge who's telling the truth and who's not. I'm the only person who has the "delete" button here and I'm certainly not going to use it on reports. If I allowed people to call other fishermen on this forum LIARS, then I might as well shut it down because no one will want to post anything in fear of being called out. So- heed this warning. Please be respectful... let it go next time. And I apologize for missing issues that happened that I missed... I don't read all posts. Ham- sorry I didn't know you were called into question on your reports. Anyone else- I apologize.

Phil...on the whole it is one of the best fishing sites going, and one of the most likely to stay respectful. Think it has a lot to do with our location, and the values most of us are brought up with. One of the hardest things when writing, even fishing reports and comments on them, is understanding how you will be read. It really helps to read things twice before hitting that post button. Many of us write as we would speak, forgetting the impact made by lack of inflection, etc.
Members spahog Posted April 3, 2014 Members Posted April 3, 2014 Well put Phil. From somebody with no dog in the Table Rock fight, this forum gets ridiculous sometimes. FatBoy keep doing your thing and don't let the naysayers tell you otherwise. It's always the same group of people that rush to judgement and call people out. They rush to posts when somebody outside the "circle" is catching fish. As soon as I read your post (because it did seem a little braggadocios), I would have bet money on who the first reply was going to be. Who cares if it's an embellished fishing story or not. At least one person has stood up and said FatBoy has been catching them, so why does it matter to you guys. It's fine to be skeptical, but to take it to the next level and publicly call someone a liar is ridiculous. It has nothing to do with you, walk away. Champ - not once did he even imply anyone was a bumbling fishermen. Not even close. He was not condescending in the least nor did he imply he was catching them better than anyone. He simply said he was catching them.
Ham Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Does anybody remember tfish4bass? He loves to spinnerbait fish and was on a huge bite. For whatever reason, he really overshared and GAVE his stuff away. A friend went with him on a trip and it was the real deal. I tried it on my own and again it was the real deal ; Cost me a bunch more money in spinerbaits Because his stuff was so different from the norm on Table Rock, multiple people called him a liar and I think he's gone away, I haven't seen him post anything since. Why didn't people just spend some time trying the wonderfuI information he gave away? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
dtrs5kprs Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Wow, folks dumping on a different way to catch them? Nope, never seen it. I'll just be over here in the corner tying on a Ned Rig...
dtrs5kprs Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 And remember, with a fish report a pic goes miles. What is that MO state nickname again?
