Guest Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 The biffle bug & hardhead has accounted for most of by bigger bass for the past 3 years. Granted, I havent fished Table Rock in 3 years, but it works eveywhere else. I had great success, hopping it down steeper banks or dragging it. However, it gets hung up a lot in big rocks or boulders. Its works great as a "deep diving crankbait" although it was designed for shallow cranking. I use a 5/16 for shallow stuff less than 10ft, the 7/16oz for 10-20 ft & the 11/16 for 20ft+ and high winds. I cant tell you how many big fish its caught at Bella Vista, Eucha, Tenkiller & the Elk river. Just a tremendous bait thats extremely versatile. the 5/16 is a super way to catch large bedding bass Also, a swimbait threaded on the hard head is KILLER! The action is wild on that biffle head
Champ188 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Don't forget there's another player in the picture at Beaver ... the wonderful striped bass, which God put in the ocean but man somehow decided belonged in Beaver. Shad populations are not even half at Beaver what they are at Table Rock, and stripers have to be part of the reason.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I've pitched it around docks on TR, some days it is the bomb. Last summer it worked real well for me on rocky banks early in the morning. Awesome technique to have in the arsenal. Drag it and maintain bottom contact. HPIM0631.JPG Haven't tried pitching it, just the as directed drag. Why do I think Davis is on your tube fish, or some like them?
J-Doc Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 No sir. I've seen shad balls that black out my graph. Many times. There's a ton of forage I'm Beaver. The shad kill was so thick this year, the Bass should be quite fat. The stripers are feeding on gizards mostly. They do eat often but no more than the little spotted bass I say. If it makes you feel any better, I'm doing my part to clean out the striper population. Best darn tasting seafood I can find short of Florida. I just finished tying baits for tomorrow. Now I have to dig out a boggle head and tie on a swim bait. Nuts.. . Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Guest Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 My best fishing day of the year in 2013 was in July. We were pitching the biffle bug to deep docks with brushpiles off the corners. Almost like pitching in deep water, so the bait swims down beside the brushpile. Those fish bite it on the fall most of the time. Trophy class catfish will chew on them, as will the big drum. You gotta love bonus fish!
Quillback Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Haven't tried pitching it, just the as directed drag. Why do I think Davis is on your tube fish, or some like them? Why do you think this? Is he up the White river channel? I wonder if they'll turn on the Tracker app on the last day?
dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Why do you think this? Is he up the White river channel? I wonder if they'll turn on the Tracker app on the last day? Listening to him at day 1 weigh in, and the bait he is using. He mentioned how far he ran first thing.
crazy4fishin Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Maybe Christie launched in the wrong lake? Or he must be way up lake today http://www.bassmaster.com/blogs/2014-elite-series-table-rock-live-blog/christie-trout-fishing C4F Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
