Here is my 2cents. Those "elites" get "paid" to do something most everyone here loves to do.

That is to fish, and they get to do it for a living. How many guys can say I get to what I enjoy for a living?

Your called the elites for a reason, so shut up your whining and learn how to fish for a living. Don't come into a fishery and expect to cqtch 25# everyday. Every body of water is different so go figure it out elites.

Would I lve for the opportunity to fish for a living. Yes it is a grind and hard work at times, but hey elites your getting paid to fish this great country of ours. You get to fish some awesome places that most of us will never get to.

So if you don't like the lakes that BASS has scheduled, then stay home let someone else who wants he challenge to fish thise lakes you have to work for.

I hear you loud and clear!, I was a professional baseball player and loved to play the game until about my second year of pro ball and then it bacame work!!

well better down there than up here at LOZ.. But I am sure they all know already that LOZ is all fished out.

I am really surprised after being on here for a short while that many of you have some negative feelings about your hero's. As many of you know I am just know I am more than likely just a simile old man. Think what you want because I could care less. But all this commercialization of the sport of bass fishing has not been good. I do not believe when a field is limited to 55 "Elite" fisherman it proves nothing other than somebody is the best of the 55 in that tournament. I was wondering about who was fishing this tournament and looked at the list. I seen the name VanDam on there twice. Hmmmm. Check out the name of Hibdon sometime if you want. Don't any of you find it strange. Some people put them on a pedestal like great athletic heroes. That they are not. I do not consider fishing athletics. When you talk about a star athlete in a sport like baseball, football or any other true sport those guys truly are great. They competed with the best and with the best of the best to get where they are. Nobody signed them in thru letters or recommendations. To me Pro bass fishing it is mostly smoke and mirrors to sell everything that has to do with fishing at what has become robbery prices. Some fisherman will sacrifice home marriage and everything else in the course of looking cool. I have some of that myself. I know there were times when I was younger that I put what I felt were the fishing needs ahead of the home needs. Fortunately my wife was patient and were going to celebrate our 50th this year.

Something you guys are not mentioning is the fact that these guys fish all over the country. Of course there are local guys that could kick their butt. It's the only lake they fish. Now take that local stud and put him in Florida. See how he does. These guys have a points system for a reason. It's about who is best over all events. As for whether these guys are athletes or not. I have read where some of these guys burn as much energy as someone running a marathon. The two guys I marshaled casted constantly. As for whether these guys are good or not. There is no question about it. They have to qualify to be an Elite pro. If they don't make top 60 at the end of the year they are out. It's not like the FLW where you just pay your money and fish. These guys are no different than everyone else. There are some good and some bad.

I couldn't agree more Mike :have-a-nice-day: .....I love the Rock especially around Baxter, because it's the only part I know.....someday I may retire there and try to learn the rest of that beautiful lake.

Hey Buddy, hurry down and we will see if we can figure them out together, using some of Mitch's great creations! I'm fixin to fish the only week of the year that I get anywhere close to as serious as these Big Sticks do.
