Smalliebigs Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Remember, when the 1954 MO Supreme Court issue was rendered, it was based on ONE float angler, not a entire city's population going to the country & acting a fool & everything that comes with it! I will say this, just like bike-riders don't pay PP tax (which would help pay for road upkeep) neither do floaters pay any sort of fee that goes DIRECTLY to state government for their usage! I think a Floaters stamp/license, or something to that effect would cut down on this increasing out of control calamity that transpires from May to September. It's not the anglers that are complicit in this, it's the urban/rural cowboys that are & we are the ones that are going to suffer for their actions! I'd have no problem paying $50-100.00 bones for such license just like I would gladly pay much more than 12 bux for a fishing license if it truly benefited stream fishing in MO... 100% agreed!!!! I suggested that awhile back on this forum and most couldn't get the sand out of their pussy's over it. Our rivers are being assf**ked in the summer by a bunch of lawless drunks.....something must be done to curtail the drunks and dangerous people attempting to float our streams. Everyone must take a course on river & floating safety, history of riparian corridor and how our actions affect them....then you can pay for your floating license.

Like many problems it comes down to law enforcement. We don't ban guns due to murders, we don't ban cars due to drunk drivers. Even most of the fishermen on here would be upset being forced to take a course on river and floater safety etc. Avoid the party rivers in the summertime, let the tourists have their fun, they way outnumber the fishermen and in this country majority rules. If you really want change it will have to be on the county level as each and every river has different problems. Go to your county commissioners and talk to them about the problems that are occurring on your river, they can get with the sheriffs department and if certain laws need to be passed then so be it. No more scout floats, church floats, family floats until you go through a class, won't ever happen and for good reason, just the government sticking it's nose where it shouldn't be. mjk86 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Your all such sissies and whimps....when the drunks get out of hand I just shoot em dead and go about my fishin....In all reality though, the rivers are being raped every summer and there is very little if anything we can do about it. Unfortunately drunk douche bags have the same rights to the rivers as the fisherman, and since there is not much enforcement with regards to public intoxication (by that I mean none) and those same drunk a**holes are spending their money not much will change moving forward. Just have to learn to deal with them or fish outside of peak yahoo times. In regards to the story...he should be locked up a good long time....face the facts..if you buy property on a heavily partied river, and expect people to treat your shoreline property with respect your an idiot. Like buying a house on LOZ and complaining about too many docks and runabouts. Get real...you know what your getting yourself into having river front property on the meremac. He is a murderer plain and simple.

Every day moves me farther to the right! No Justin, you're just purely naive & can't see the Forest from the high water mark! You can write a 300 page diatribe to legitimize the point of view you are beholden to but in the end it's this simple... As where you are just concerned about your bottom line, I'm concerned about the resource being trashed, thrashed, & abused! Also it should be said (I might not ever float again by the way because of recent health issues) that my position is solely concentrated with the preservation of a wonderful natural resource and it's not people like me that have ushered in the regulations, abuse of property, lewd conduct, and a myriad of other things that go with it that you & YOU'RE bussiness facilitate! Any retort to the contrary is rooted in your bottom line. I've also read some of your takes previously & seems as though you are of the mindset of "people over profits!" Unless it's this & it's abundantly clear that you prefer profit over the natural resource! Because it's so draconian to believe that if you use the resource, you should help manage it fiscally! How horrible! You are as bias as they come Sir! Good day...

Old plug Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I was reading this morning that there was a witness that was in a float group in front of them and. he seen this guy standing there on the gravel bar looking like he was real upset and angry. It was also brought put that he was 400 ft from his property line when this all happened. If those two thing are factual then it looks like he was looking for trouble.
mjk86 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Lol actually it makes perfect sense...Im sorry for your poor reading comprehension skills, must not have made it past reading. I guess since it doesnt agree with your cowboys and indians point of view you make fun and name call..its 2014 cowboy...we dont just shoot people. I can assure you youve never read hieroglyphs. Also genius..."what a asinine, petulant retort" is not correct or even close...before calling me dumb...check yourself dick.
