Guest P. owensby Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Voluntary manslaughter my guess. And if it is, so be it!
Guest P. owensby Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Guilty of 2nd degree murder. And if it is, so be it!
Old plug Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 They do that out here every year and it does bot stop them. Too many vars on the lake that stay open till late at hight.
Guest P. owensby Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Back to the subject. I think there's a good chance some serious enforcement against public indecency, intoxication and language would eventually increase floaters to some degree. It wouldn't take but one summer with some heavy enforcement to send some looking for other places to act like azzholes.. Agreed Wayne! BTW, I've always thought you were more of the more pragmatic responders on this site & I enjoy reading your takes!

We have people call and ask about how strict water patrol is, when we get that call we know to send them elsewhere so we don't have to deal with them! Gavin Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 No issues with Justin's business. Amy & Justin run a good campground...and its one of my favorite spots to camp....best owners in the 30 or so years that I've camped there, and there have been several. Good people. I really don't care what happens to this Crocker fellow...He killed Dart in a fight he did not have to pick. The jury will do its job.
Smalliebigs Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 No Justin, you're just purely naive & can't see the Forest from the high water mark! You can write a 300 page diatribe to legitimize the point of view you are beholden to but in the end it's this simple... As where you are just concerned about your bottom line, I'm concerned about the resource being trashed, thrashed, & abused! Also it should be said (I might not ever float again by the way because of recent health issues) that my position is solely concentrated with the preservation of a wonderful natural resource and it's not people like me that have ushered in the regulations, abuse of property, lewd conduct, and a myriad of other things that go with it that you & YOU'RE bussiness facilitate! Any retort to the contrary is rooted in your bottom line. I've also read some of your takes previously & seems as though you are of the mindset of "people over profits!" Unless it's this & it's abundantly clear that you prefer profit over the natural resource! Because it's so draconian to believe that if you use the resource, you should help manage it fiscally! How horrible! You are as bias as they come Sir! Good day... darn Justin!!!! what he just said......you just outed yourself as someone who would rather rape the resource with tourist rather than a few fisherman who don't seem to spend the MONEY the tourist do........yeah you care about the river.....ha
jdmidwest Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Guilty, Second Degree Murder. http://www.stltoday.com/news/state-and-regional/missouri/jury-finds-property-owner-guilty-in-river-shooting/article_200f13aa-9901-52fb-947e-102b97ec049e.html Does not look like any river right of way issues were even brought up. That part still looms in limbo and will remain the same little fuzzy gray area. Of course, that part was not on trial. ness Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 That's what I figgered -- not 1st degree, because it wasn't a planned thing. Not manslaughter because he friggin shot the guy on purpose. Not sure of the timing on the verdict, but it sure seems pretty quick. Also not surprised that no breakthrough was made on the issue of trespassing, stream rights, or whatever. Guess that one still hangs in the balance. Doesn't matter where you are -- shoot a guy for no good reason and you're gonna pay. That's just. John
