Reminder...riversmallies Ozark Rodeo

Just wanted to remind everybody that I'm putting on the Riversmallies Ozark rodeo on the Gasconade at Boiling Springs Campground, June 17-22. I've been a member of Riversmallies for many years, and always wanted to put on a rodeo in the Ozarks, after attending several in Virginia and West Virginia. Riversmallies was a great website back in the day, and the new version, which has been going on for a few years, is the second site I visit each evening after this one. The rodeos are a chance for members (and non-members) from across the country to get together for a few days of fishing and nights of music and fun. There are some great musicians among the guys that usually show up, and for this one, Dirty Ed and some friends will be there. Dirty Ed is a good songwriter and musician, and always great fun to listen to and sing along with.

We've got a group of campsites down by the river reserved, and there is plenty of room for anybody that wants to join us. I'll be there for sure from Tuesday night on, and people will be coming in at different times during the week.

There will probably be open seats in several jetboats, as well as canoes. I'm probably bringing two solo canoes...I'd bring three if I could figure out an easy way to carry the third one. Of course, you can also rent canoes from the campground. We'll be splitting up and going to different stream stretches each day so no one stretch will get crowded, and some will be fishing the Gasconade from jetboats while others will be floating farther up on the Gasconade, on the Big Piney, Little Piney, and perhaps other streams within an hour's drive of the campground. We'll mostly be doing our own shuttles, allowing floats on stream sections that don't get a lot of pressure.

All Ozarkanglers members are invited...you don't have to belong to Riversmallies to come, but if you like river smallmouth fishing it's a good website. Come for a day or for several days. It should be great fun, and hopefully good fishing.

I'm pretty sure GreasyB and I are coming. I think it would look cool with a canoe strapped to the top of my SUV, pulling a jet boat. All the bases covered.

Man, that would be fun, would love to do the same Mitch... I did that last year one time, and it does look cool. I'm probably gonna be working so I can't commit, but i'd love to, love to meet some more of you guys!

Already hitting the Big Piney from Slabtown to Ross bridge this fri/sat. Wish I knew about this rodeo before we made plans! Have fun guys can't wait to see pics!
