Members champ198 Posted June 7, 2014 Members Posted June 7, 2014 My family is looking at getting a new dog soon. It will most likely be a male large breed....standard poodle (probably around 60 pounds) We've always had standard poodles, and they are not "foo foo" poodles by any stretch of the imagination. Just good, smart dogs. Anyway. We just love Table Rock lake. I grew up fishing it with my dad. We are wanting to come up with a name for the dog that has something to do with the lake, or even just the area. A creek name, small town name in the area, Table Rock fishing technique, resort name...you get the idea. So far we like "Fisher" for Fisher creek. Also considering Schooner. I kinda like "dropshot" but not sure I could talk my wife into it. Got any good ideas guys?
fishinwrench Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 My dad trained bird dogs and he always said the best dog names were single syllable. Names like Chip, Buck, Jack, ect. (A name that sounds the same whether you are whispering it or screaming it, or whether you are happy or pissed).
Greasy B Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Rock. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
bfishn Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 You're welcome to borrow the name of my last dog (gosh I miss him) Gill... as in Gill Baitsman, the fisherman's amigo. I can't dance like I used to.
