vernon Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Guys, the COE has nothing to do with it. They do what they are told. Banning specific watercraft or limiting areas of use literally requires an act of Congress. The local guys can make recommendations but they do not establish policy. Watercraft usage is not even part of their mission. Certain areas of LOZ were restricted but it's not a corps lake. Remember, lots of COE employees are recreational users as we'll. They didn't get into the business because they hated lakes and the outdoors. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." GNSfishing Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 bill, the answer is to enforce the law. you are responsible for your wake. pwc are licensed the same as any other boat. so, they should have to follow the same safe boating rules. you would have given a ticket to any boat cutting all the di-does the they are doing on the pwc's. we have rules in place to stop the chaos. just enforce them. bo Yes but one of the problems is getting the water patrol on the water where they are suppose to be to observe all of thru infractions to the boating laws of this state.
Jerry Rapp Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yes but one of the problems is getting the water patrol on the water where they are suppose to be to observe all of thru infractions to the boating laws of this state. there is no Water Patrol anymore. Thanks Jay, er, Jeremiah.

Now who do the dock owners get the permission from to put no wake buoys out in front of their docks???? I'd like to get some across the mouth of Piney Creek............
GNSfishing Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The dock businesses greased some palms some where. I just wonder when there is no more shore line to place a dock, then what are they going to do. Oh I know it will be dock repair caused by the wake boats and big cruisers. So you see it is all about the all mighty $$$$$$$ We can't win for loosing.....
vernon Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Contact the Public Affairs Office, Little Rock District @ 501-324-5551or ceswl-pa@usace.army.mil. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
Nitroman Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Good luck getting NO-WAKE BUOY'S. I checked into it several years ago, @ that time it about took an " ACT OF GOD " to get them. So I figured I would wait a while & see if they would simplify the process, well " WRONG AGAIN " the process has become more complicated. And if you fight through all the "RED TAPE & USACOE BS " & you are lucky enough to get them I hope you have a heavy check-book to cover the expense as " IT AIN'T CHEAP " !!!!!!! vernon Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 BTW, I have contacted the district office and requested that the PA office begin monitoring this site in order to answer questions and address pressing issues. Not sure if they'll play but they've been asked. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
BATCAB27 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Maybe some of you folks should just make some no wake buoys and go set them where you like. Doesn't sound like there is any water patrol to remove them
Pepe Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 H'mmm. It sounds like a business opportunity, dock repair & reinforcement? I guess I need to learn how to night fish or how to fish Bull Shoals. How crowded is Taneycomo this time of year
