I feel like a lot of these fishermen I see in the very expensive boats are just trying to make a social statement. If your. a guide or something there is a valid statement.

The other afternoon a couple guys came by in a sparkle boat. They was really expert fisherman to you could tell from from the white 7 ft rods and expensive reel 2 grafts and god knows what else in there. About 11/2 hours later they were fishing a point that I fish a lot. They really was looking good out there in that fine boat. Yes sir they were back about a 100 ft casting to some docks on that point. Believe me they worked that brush like pros. I never seen them catch a fish. For all the big boat and all the equipment the boat was out of position, the time was wrong time to be there and the lures they were throwing were the wrong ones. I know the correct variables were. I been fishing that spot a week almost very successfully. So what did all that money get them except a false idea that they were just better and above others. But i enjoyed watching it.

You came to an awful judgemental conclusion at such a long distance. I bet that every spot they did catch fish you could catch more. The hypocrisy in that statement you made couldn't be easier to see.

If money was no object, I think it would be fair to say that most of us would like to have a new boat and top of the line rods and reels. I know that i would.

Only about some people. Maybe if you live to be 75 yrs old you might be judgmental as well. Of course you got a lot of walking thru life yet to do.

Nope have no idea where they fished and could care less. I only fish about 2 hrs a day and never more than 2 miles from my house.

Gentlemen, (insert Groucho Marx voice) and I use the term loosely, some really fine fishermen fish from very unpretentious vessels. Some really fine fishermen fish from rigs I would love to own (want to give me yours Quillback?) It's not about the ride.

It's about the attitude.

Ray Scott had it wrong. Fishing is not competitive. Neither are the vessels we use.

REDSOZ----That was not the problem with these two I and my neighbor next said hi to them and he ask them if they were catching anything. They just totally disregarded both of us as they fished thru. our docks. If I am on the dock I deliberately say. hi to any fisherman that comes by because I do not want them to think I am against their fishing there. I know a lot of them become uncomfortable when they see a owner down there. And i want then to realize they are welcome.

Its not about what the boat and tackle were its about the superior attitude it imparts to some of these people.

That's kinda what I figured.
