abkeenan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Supposedly STORM has the "old original molds" and is re-releasing the wiggle wart. Will be interested to see how they turn out. Despite its manufacture being 2014, this bait is called the Original Wiggle Wart because it's being made with the original molds and components, but in new colors like Creek Craw. Another interesting bait I saw is the STORM BX Minnow wake bait. Maybe finally something that will rival the Redfin and will actually work out of the package? Interesting Zman Jig Z-ManProject Z Football JigZ-Man, known for its revolutionary Elaztech soft plastic and the Chatterbait, is entering the traditional jig market with a football jig and a casting jig. Both sport Z-Man's highly textured skirt. This is the Project Z Football Jig. KVD 8.0 KVD 8.0This magnum sized square bill dives to 7 feet and has a great wandering action. It's another case of big baits catch big bass. The 8.0 is based off the original 2.5, it is just larger. It weighs 1.5 oz. and is 5 inches long. It deflects really well off of cover. Scrounger meets Chatterbait??? Tour Grade Naked Rage BladeThis has all the same features of the Tour Grade Rage Blade but with a clear blade. It also comes pre-rigged with a Strike King Blade Minnow. Zman chunk trailer Batwing ZThis hot rod chunk is made to give lots of action yet last for fish after fish thanks to its Elaztech construction, which is reported to last 10 times longer than regular plastics. Zman Grub Look Dave....don't even have to cut a Zinker in half anymore! Finesse TRDThis is about as finessy as soft stickbaits get. Its teeny size is also ideal for panfish. ZmanFinesse ShroomzZ-Man's Finesse Shroomz is a hybrid hook that's mostly a shaky head and a can also pull duty as a wacky head. Interesting.............. Texas Rigged Spy Baiting????? Basically the old Scoundrel??? What was once old is new again........again ZappuPera RJapan’s finest terminal tackle brand, Zappu, releases the Pera R, an add-on propeller that will allow you to adapt any soft plastic lure to the recent Spybaiting phenomenon. Start saving your money guys!
dtrs5kprs Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 The TRD works. It has less salt than the standard Zero/Zinkerz. Don't know how many are in a pack, may still be cheaper to cut them. Their chunk and grub have my attention, depending on colors. The current chunk works well. BPS has had the creek craw color as an exclusive for a couple of years. Sort of makes me think there is not a big change in that wart release.
Quillback Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yeah I like that wake bait (hopefully they run straight out of the box). If that re-issue of the Wiggle Wart is truly like the old ones - there's some guys out there that are going to be stuck with some old baits that suddenly won't have much value. Cool stuff, thanks for posting.

I have the sneaky suspicion that even if the new Wart is identical in EVERY WAY (which they probably won't be) to the old pre rapala warts........people will still say they aren't and the prices for the old ones will remain high.

Members AAD Posted July 4, 2014 Members Posted July 4, 2014 Maybe the Zman grub will keep its tail, unlike the Yamo's that tend to get bit off.
Champ188 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Anyone tried those 8 inch spoons yet around here? Put 3 of them on a A-Rig and watch out. Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are. Worse part about the new Wart release is going to be trying to wade thru all of the yada yada "they are great" vs. "they suck, old ones are better" here on the forum. For all of the banter that's been written here on the subject, nothing has ever been decided. Gonna need a lot of duct tape and bailing wire to keep my head from exploding.
Old plug Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I am tooooooo old for worring about all the new stuff. If it is a worm or jig it might catch my interest. but rarely. If I cannot make them bite on plastics I will fish for something else. Throughout most the season however I csn keep up pretty well woth my plastics. You could fill a book with all the things you can do with these two things. Extremely versite lures.
*T* Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Maybe the Zman grub will keep its tail, unlike the Yamo's that tend to get bit off. Yamamoto 4-inchers get bit off because of very small connector between body & tail. 5-inchers don't have that problem and are NOT too big. They don't call the 5-inchers Super Grubs for nothing.
