Pepe Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I have now been enlightened that a cautionary tale about some dangerous situations is whining. That a 1st class guide who makes a living and shares his knowledge on this lake, should just fish some obscure stream or pond when TR gets busy and stupid. You guys are douches for even griping about it. Get a life... or try fishing something obscure besides your precious home waters. It is nostalgic to hear a young, in-the-know fella, who is certain to be 100% right, tell all us d-bags how to solve these issues. I used to be that smart when I was about 21. I will now run out and recommend "OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS" to all the d-bags friends I know.
jmes Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 It could be part of the problem that a accident such as this didn't even make the news when a person had to be life flighted into the hospital , so a large portion of people never even know about it http://www.mshp.dps....T_NUM=140423657
Old plug Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Finally seen a water patrol boat last evening late. We had a drowning here again Friday evening in Party Cove. The guy drowned around 5:30 and the water patrol did not arrive until 2 hrs later. At least that is what was on the early news release. Might be messed up.
Members Kcdangler Posted July 6, 2014 Members Posted July 6, 2014 If the energy in name calling was put into constructive action I thnk it could work better for everyone example size hp rating on boats possibly petition just a thought
skeeter Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 All too well. Went out well before their takeoff, idled across the mouth of Indian, and was tucked up against the bluff generally west of Baxter ramp. It was crazy dangerous. A few "no ski" areas would at least give folks who want to fish an option. Back of Flat would be a prime place, for obvious safety reasons. Yessir, we idled away from Baxter launch ramp that morning and fished the shallows close-in to the side of the campground point. As the fog began to lift we had one of those LMAO moments when we discovered some guys in a "camera boat" taping us with one of those big shoulder-held video cameras thru the slowly clearing fog. I told my Son "watch this" and turned the boat sideways with the troller so the big letters SKEETER on our boat were plainly visible to the cameraman and we about fell overboard laughing while he cursed ! I think the Germans have a word for that, something like Schadenfreude....shame on little old me ! (wink)

At least I was smart enough not to be involved in the tmt.

OldMillRoad Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 This seems appropriate. I'm glad I was in Northern Manitoba for the last 10 days.
Fish24/7 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Missouri has some of THE "softest" alcohol regulations in the country, no surprise to me MO made a top ten list for the most boating accidents. Some of MO liquor laws are a joke to me.... and I'm not laughing. These outdated regs. need to be reviewed and updated for everybody's safety on and off the water.
