Quillback Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Neat concept, hard to say what it will appear as to a bass, I'm thinking they'll see it as one large bait, but who knows? Disclaimer: I have no association with any tackle manufacturers or retailers, just providing this link for discussion of this line of lures. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/ICAST14.html?ccode=KOPPERS14B
Mitch f Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Interesting, I'm not sure about the whole bait ball series but Koppers sure hit a home run with the HFC crawfish crankbait "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Gavin Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Thinking that cadence is more important than the paint job, but it might be good lure. Just depends on how it walks, fast, slow, body roll, width of walk.
jmes Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 It's definitely interesting, Time will be the ultimate decision on this. Will it catch fish sure but I think it will probably catch a whole lot more fisherman I notice at the Icast this year there is a lot of attention to detail in the new lures that are coming out for us to try out. IMHO
Champ188 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Gonna join the legions of those reserving judgment on this ... but I'm skeptical. I'm with Gavin on thinking cadence and mechanical action is more important than paint finish.
kjackson Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 FWIW-- This is part of the Yearling series of baits--very similar to what was introduced last year but with the images the size of young-of-the-year hatch. There is the topwater walker, a popper, square bill, mid-depth crank and deep diver. May have missed one there, but you get the idea. Plus there are several color patterns to match the hatch.
Champ188 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I see what they're trying to do, but the question remains will the fish continue to see the lure for its actual (overall) size, or will they see it for the little individual baby shad? I'm going to be surprised if it works any better than a normal topwater.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Interesting and will catch a Ton for sure.... but will it catch fish is the answer? I would bet they hit it out of instinct but will it out do other baits of its types I don't know so ill hold off judgment as well. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
5bites Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 The only bait like this that I would think would benefit from this design is a jerkbait. Even then I wouldn't bet on it.
