WHARFRAT Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Got out this morning, and noticed the lock on my rod box looked a little cockeyed. When I opened it, some of my rods were gone. They took only my spinning rods, left my baitcasters. So if you see anyone trying to peddle a Shimano Symetre 2500. Shimano Sedona 500 FD, pflueger president, with a couple of St. Croix rods. (7' and 5 1/2') and a BPS 7' micro lite. Drop me a line. Looks like they also made off with a tray of bandits, and a small box of jigs. And I don't see my lite rain suit. Thought it was in there, it was brand new still in sealed pkg. so I'm sure it's gone. Thank god I always take in my hummingbirds. Don't know why the left the baitcasters, because they are $$$. @lozcrappie
grizwilson Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Hate to hear that, sounds like Ned rig fishermen. Love the convenience of the boat in the dock, but darn thieves have to carry everything up. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
Quillback Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Sorry to hear that. Strange that they only took spinning stuff.
Old plug Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 WARFRAT----- How many boats in you condo dock. ??? Maybe you can tslk to tsome of the other owners about installing a security cameras.
fishinwrench Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Sounds like a fisherman hit to me. That's what happens when you get someone hooked on fishing that can't afford it. So see, the "Take a Kid Fishing" campaign is only gonna cause problems unless you first get them a good JOB !
Members Jim Y Posted July 27, 2014 Members Posted July 27, 2014 When I moved to LOZ, I bought and had installed a device called a Loc-A-Bar to the front compartments of my bass boat where I store all my tackle. It is a bar across the boat that cannot be removed and makes entry into the storage compartments impossible. I will admit that I have not had any theft issue, or other, after two years at Parkside Place Condo. I love having the bass boat on a lift in a 30' long slip where it stays dry all the time.
WHARFRAT Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Cover wasn't on, I usually leave it off when I'm down for the weekend. It is odd that they took only spinning outfits and a tray or two of trolling baits. Sucks! Now I'm suspicious of everyone. @lozcrappie
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Just remember this, there are many more good people than bad. We just have a hard time spreading the good stories. Sucks for this to happen, but think of how many people passed your boat with no intent on removing anything. The odds are still in your favor. Hopefully those who are involved get caught. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Old plug Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I have never heard of that lock a bar. My only thing about that is it will draw undo attention. Make them think you got some real hot stuff in there. I am not sure i would want that. There is a big rummage sale.almost every weekend up in Versaille accross from the High School. I have seen fishing tackel up there that I did not think was rummage sale class stuff. I seen one guy with about 5 or 6 Long ducket rods there.Would not surprise me if some stollen tackel did. not wind up there.
