...For all the freaks on here that want to float with the party floaters and see some titties and tattos go to the Black River and float from Lesterville to the first smiley face on any weekend during the summer season. It's a straight up freak show....

Thanks for the tip, I may have to give that a try. The keeper females on the Elk have shown little interest in my Magnum Creek Chub lately.

I can't dance like I used to.

Otf i guess u never been to the Elk thanks for the insults . I'm glad to see your learning a lot in school here's three more reasons to judge me I like the Jayhawks ,Royals and own a jet but I'm C&R

Not sure how I insulted you but okay.

Edit: I see what you're talking about, and I do think you completely misread my post. I was just saying, don't make an excuse for those who do stupid stuff on the river just because they're "young". Because there are plenty of younger people who don't act that way.

No problem with the Royals. The Jayhawks are another story but at least you didn't say anything about being a Chief's fan. So there's a bit of hope for you there.

hey no problem....do it up. I was once cornered by a couple of cougars down there on the Black.....scary dung. What was actually stupidity on my part once back in 1994 while floating with my wife now but, back then was my girlfriend....we came across three freaks beating the piss out of an older dude while his wife stood by in horror. Me being much younger and very stupid thought I should help and it became a true brawl.....these guys were beating a guy who was basically unconscious and long story short I was taken to the Jefferson county memorial hospital by ambulance, which I wouldn't take my dog to and the fella was air lifted from HWY K back to St.Louis..... there can be danger out there with the drunks.

MoSmallies saw a brawl on the Black River with me once where they were hitting each other with softball sized rocks in the head....he was very young at the time and I had to get him and his now wife and a few others out of there as dung got nuts in a hurry.....when we were high tailing it out of there two girls were ripping hair out of each others scalps like it was snowing.....people were knocked out all over the place......ah memories....chiggerville is no place to pick a fight with locals.

What I find interesting is that Amazement parks ( some sell alcohol ) Concert venues ( do sell alcohol ) City Parties/fest with alcohol and so many other events all seem to be ran fine some daily with none of the crap you see on our rivers. Can someone answer me why all those venues can happen with alcohol and people having good times and for ALL AGES, yet our rivers and streams cant do it for 2 hours on a weekend?

Not entirely true.

Take the Mardi Gras event in the Soulard area of St Louis. Without heavy police enforcement, the debauchery would and has gotten out of hand quickly. Take a look at what happens at Panama City Beach during Spring break from March-April.

Large amounts of alcohol and young men and women in swimsuits usually ends up in lewd behavior of some kind or another. The best advice would be to avoid it. Find another river to float. It's really no different than avoiding Lake of the Ozarks in the summer on the weekends, especially the Grand Glaize arm... and yes, party cove is within a Mo. State park.

Ive been to Both numerous times and throw in Daytona and Ft L, But you already said why they don't get completely out of hand ( POLICE ENFORCEMENT ) and that is exactly what most of us are saying is needed here to keep it from happening. I have seen arrest at all the venues you list for people who took it to far and crossed that line.

Yes, there's police enforcement. Most of the venue's listed are within the confines of a city where police have fairly quick access to get to troublespots or in the event a problem starts to get out of hand, back up LEO's can get to an area quickly.

How are you going to do that on a gravel bar in a river where there is usually no access via roads? I can see writing tickets for public drunkeness, nudity, drug use, etc. but that isn't likely to break the crowds up. If you start hauling off the worst ones, where and how are you going to haul them off to? What happens if the crowd starts getting unruly because of it? How would law enforcement get the back up they need in an expediant manner?

I suspect the police aren't terribly interested in getting too involved because of the logistics I just mentioned.

Real simple common sense in this case.... The Police Already and with very good advanced notice, know about this event and its potential. Doesn't take much to super saturate the area with LEO's from Local Sheriff, State Police, Marshalls, Fish and Game. Bring the prison busses and fill them up and haul them off. Just that sight alone should make people think twice and behave and those that don't, hit them with the book for being Darwin contestants.

You might be surprised how much self policing will go on with that presence worked in Palm Springs, works in Daytona and Lauderdale its simple logic to the rednecks also even a mathematical formula their brains calculate ( Bail money takes away from Beer money ).
