Champ188 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Might be the least-appetizing plate I've ever seen, and I like fish. Gack!
Feathers and Fins Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Guess we shouldn't mention cooked rainbow trout while we're at it huh..... Man that's like saying Spam is a gourmet meal. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Bill Babler Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Yes, I think Champ hit it pretty well. These fish are going to be in captivity for 14 hrs. rather than just 8. Plus they are going to be in a 1.5 ft. enclosure instead of a substantial tank. Completely different. I think we will be ok, with the lower temps that we are suspose to have. Good to hear we will have a man on the scene. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
garyw Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 i really like the idea i see on some tournaments on tv. an official rides in each boat, weighs and records each fish and then releases it.

Yeah well, that kinda kills the suspense and excitement of the WI so I'm afraid that type of format will never gain enough support. I was in a B.A.S.S. federated club that scored on paper during regular club tournaments but the federation rules demanded that we couldn't qualify anglers while using that format. When we asked "why not" we were told that the possibility of catching/scoring the same fish twice existed with that type of scoring system. Couldn't argue with that, since I myself had seen that happen numerous times in the past. And to be totally honest I had attempted that as a strategy once during a late April tournament by returning to a 22incher on a bed that I had caught earlier in the day. So there is THAT.
evilcatfish Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I'd really be interested in seeing a study on the mortality rates of these transported fish.
Champ188 Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Well, no mention in their final story on the centralpro-am.com website about what they planned to do with the fish. Seems they'd want the public to know they were returning them alive and well to Table Rock ... if that's what they did. As it is, I guess we're left to wonder.
dprice Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Every name there sets the milestones for fish preservation. There wasn't one there i would question on the situation. Dprice priceheatingair.com
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 the fish weighed-in for the central pro tournament will be quarntined for 30 days and released back into the water
