laker67 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Coming to your local pond, soon. No more making that long drive to the trout parks, rivers, or lake taneycomo. Just grab the rod, the lawn chair, and park on the bank next to your favorite urban, trout fishing, destination. Don't forget the rod holders and the fish baskets. I heard a rumor that this year, some of the fish will be tagged and worth hundreds of dollars. Its like they pay you not to put out any effort or gas money to catch tax dollar fish. What a deal. The lunkers and the 16 inch fish that they did not stock at bssp will be headed your way soon. I tried to make a reservation at the petis county inn, but they were already booked for the opening weekend.
fishinwrench Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 The place where those fish are going is closer to a natural setting than Bennett is. Folks will actually walk through grass/weeds to get to the shoreline.

snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Good luck. I'm headed to mountain home Tuesday to Saturday. Woohoo! Pete
Gavin Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 That is not to miss! LOL! They dump some in several lakes nearby, and my 5 & 7 year old girls have fun. Jefferson Lake is the Mecca for the winter mud puddle stocker fishing. Always a crowd.

snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Good luck to you Pete. Thanks! For me this is the opening of trout season. Pete
mhall02 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 It is kind of nice to take to kids over to lake 21 or 28 out of Busch during the winter and learn how to feel the subtle hit on a jig, and it is only 15 minutes away! They don't have the chance I had growing up down by Capps Creek, Roaring River and few 'other' trout spots.
