Quillback Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 But so far no mention of old vs new warts, jerkbait colors, etc. Has to be a win on balance right? I hear that the pre-Rapala ned rigs work a lot better than the new Storm version. Something to do with old molds and lead balls.
Ham Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I was thinking about trying 5 balls of Power Bait on a trout A Rig. Has anyone experimented with which 5 colors might work best? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Might try chartreuse, red, pink, yellow and white. Were you thinking full size A Rig or maybe the yum flash mob Jr? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Ham Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 LOL! Might try chartreuse, red, pink, yellow and white. Were you thinking full size A Rig or maybe the yum flash mob Jr? Well, I'll have to have some 5 hook models for Arky and 3 hook versions for MO, but FULL SIZE all the way. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
fishingaddiction Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 HA HA! Be sure to let us know how that works for you. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
bluebasser86 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Some of the slick fish types need to give the little rig a spin down on Taney. Have seen some nice trout pics sent by Ned. I caught quite a few trout the last couple years out of Lake Shawnee in Topeka (same lake Ned usually does his "bass fishing for trout" on). PB&J and pink were my 2 best colors and they do smack them awfully hard, sometimes about take the rod from you.
Ham Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Awesome! I have an excuse to buy some pink ones now. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Champ188 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 You will look cute throwing those pink ones, Ham. Be sure and throw a few extra dollars in for one of those divine little trout vests and maybe the wooden-frame "minnow net" for dipping up your catch.
bluebasser86 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Not ashamed to say I even make matching heads for them Big smallies like that pink head too. The candy purple looks great with a PB&J zinker
Champ188 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Good-looking heads, bluebasser. I love to paint my shaky heads purple. About the pink ... Guido Hibdon says big smallmouth love it. I figure he's caught enough of them to know what he's talking about.
