conorsixtakc Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 What colors do you guys like best on LOZ? I've been having great luck with purpledescent/gold head, and pro blue. Curious to hear what other guys have been throwing with good results!
Dewayne French Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I usually keep it simple Megabass: Pro Blue, ITO Natural, Elegy Bone, & Wakin React have always been good up there for me Rogue: Clown, Ayu, & Threandfin Shad There are other brands and color schemes, but those a my goto's. One of, if not the best JB guy is in that neck of the woods. He is tough anytime, but with that bait for sure! conorsixtakc 1
conorsixtakc Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Megabass: Pro Blue, ITO Natural, Elegy Bone, & Wakin React have always been good up there for me I think the purple/gold color I use is called ITO Wakasagi
fishinwrench Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Anything "shad-like", and of course Clown (seems to work everywhere jerkbaits are thrown). On sunny days I think it pays to motorboat the FLASH. On cloudy days I think it pays to throw non-metallic baits. I have a confidence deficit with orange bellies myself but some guys swear by them.
Seth Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Pro blue when it's bright and clear. Elegy Bone when it's cloudy and clear. I've also got a deadly black illusion I think it's called, which is gold and black for when it's cloudy with a little color but I haven't used it much so can't really comment on how well it works. The other two are producers for sure though.
WeekendWarrior Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Clown when sunny, bone when cloudy, black back with gold sides and orange belly when water is stained
Gavin Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I love the high end Japanese baits but the big box in the USA is screwing that up. Bass pro picked a bait I really like a few years ago and has totally dried up the good colors in favor of the crap colors that most folks buy.
Old plug Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I agree with Wrench about the shad color. Never seem to have a need for anything else. Maybe a little flash in the sun might help. Gavin ---Drop in and see Ed up in Lairie at Ozark outfitters they were stocking the walls with them yeasterday.
*T* Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have heard "use neutral baits on cloudy day and flashy ones on sunny days" forever and everywhere. In all my years fishing I have not made that correlation and have had success both using that suggestion and vice versa. Is that just based upon your personal success with that? Seems that if there is less light a flashy bait would bring more attention and if there is more light there would be less need for flash. Interested in you comments. conorsixtakc Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 Flash cannot exist without light, so using a flashy bait with a lack of light sounds counter-intuitive to me.
