dtrs5kprs Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 If anybody remembers the record flood a fews years back, there was going to be a BASS Open in April and there would have been some 20lb bags of smallmouth brought in but they cancelled it. They were catching them 30 ft deep where the original bank line was and where the current would set them up. I had a blast catching mixed bags during that flood on spinnerbaits. You never knew what you were going to catch, you would throw by a flooded tree on one cast catch a 4lb smallmouth, throw to the next one and catch a 3.5lb spot and bring out 4 of his friends with it and throw at the next one and catch a 4lbs largemouth. Great fun and lasting memories. Great fun once the initial difficulties settled down. Not quite the same as the flood in 2008, but fun. I think Table Rock is about to explode into a world class smallmouth fishery. I couldn't believe how many 3 + lb smallmouth I caught last spring. In the next few years we could be looking at tons of 4 + lb smallmouth here. There is so many of them in the lake. I think we have some fantastic smallmouth fishing ahead of us gents. Definitely. No one wants to hear it, but if the zebras get in TR and the clarity takes off, look out. Those brown fish will go nuts. Ham 1
Champ188 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Definitely. No one wants to hear it, but if the zebras get in TR and the clarity takes off, look out. Those brown fish will go nuts. Just a matter of time -- and probably not very long -- until they get it there. Bet you could find some on the hull of the Branson Belle right now.
Guest Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 My wife caught one of the biggest 5 fish smallmouth limits in lake history during that timeframe. She thinks you can go out & catch 4-5lb smallies everytime. LOL
dtrs5kprs Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Seems like Charlie Campbell weighed a 20# sack of brownies in a BASS. Might have been the one Gary Klein won back in the 90's.
