Oh man that sounds good!!

I confess to eating it all - except that big bowl of pasta salad.  Johnsonville does make a decent bratwurst and the beer boil is a great way to prepare them.

I've tried a few different types of brat, including from a pretty cool little German meat shop near here (Werner's), the Hermann Wurst Haus in Hermann, and KC Bier Co, who specializes in German beer and has a small menu of German foods. I just like the Johnsonville brats best.

We do the beer boil too -- wifey likes to add onions. Then we finish them quickly on the grill. You?

Tomorrow is my birthday. In case anyone cares, I will be 75. Older than I ever expected to be. I am still vertical, so I guess I won. Last night my Nancy trapped me. I thought we were going to dinner at the better venue where we live. As we entered, she told me to turn into the group room and I found six of the close friends we have made. I was in the middle of a surprise birthday. Tonight we had family over. Daughter, sister, her husband, niece, her husband, grand niece, her husband, close friend of sister (maid of honor who lives in this community), and a stray fiend to all that I really like. I made burgers and sesame soy ginger shrimp. They brought the sides. Nancy fixed one of the few sweets I love, a Boston Cream Pie. Life does not get better.

No pictures, but one of the things I served by the burgers was roasted sesame, soy, ginger shrimp. Seriously good and you need to try them.

Happy birthday.   Mine was Thursday,  out of town for training.  Had Skyline Chili just outside of Cincinnati  for my birthday dinner.   I was. Ot very turned on by it, but would consider it a second time.   Here's a picture of that as well as a nachos platter from the day before.
