BilletHead Posted October 20 Posted October 20 For sharing but especially for @Foghorn since he was baiting me to post here. yesterday morning I went grocery shopping. My cart was full, and it was the limit. The legs, thighs and wings were put in the crockpot with the broth from the last couple of chickens we had saved. Some dried rosemary pitched in too. When falling off the bone Pat picked the meat. She got it out for a late lunch and took half of it and made turkey salad. 4d6d253a-980b-47dc-9cb0-5a0670d00331.mp4 She kept stirring and added the picked turkey, mayo, celery seed, craisins, dill relish, some salt, chopped pecans, and chopped onions. Made some skillet toast out of sourdough bread. Time to eat out on the back screened in porch during this windy but nice day. nomolites, Ryan Miloshewski, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" rps Posted October 20 Posted October 20 I believe there are only three acceptable ways to serve oysters: on the half shell, chowder, Rockefeller. I have been known to embarrass myself with the number of oysters on the half shell I ate. Johnsfolly 1

My aunt lives on Cape Cod so I have been a few times and it is truly magical. I think Wellfleet oysters are the best in the world, so I am biased, but it's such a fun event. Guys are bringing the traps up from the docks and throwing them right on ice to the shuckers. The amount of fresh seafood options is incredible--cherry clams, stuffies, steamers, lobster rolls, and oysters every single way you could think of. rps, Johnsfolly and BilletHead 3 “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold

One benefit of living in MD is getting to eat oysters from up and down the coast. Local places would offer flights of several oysters collected from different locations. Pretty amazing the differences in the taste. rps and ness 2
