snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Did somebody says "peas"? If there is one single pea in any dish I have to pass on it. I'm like a 2nd grader when it comes to peas and lima beans. How could you ruin risotto with a pea? ness 1

I got a salad the other day and it was infested with little maggots of cucumber. I about sent it back, but just toughed it out. I love pickles, and can tolerate green pepper if it's thoroughly cooked. Just not raw. John

Mitch f Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks bell peppers of any color are disgusting! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
BilletHead Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 What Mitch? Surely you jest? Big difference in sweet bells and those nasty original I guess you call them green bells. Got to love the sweet ones. As for peas shucked raw right out of the garden they are the best, cooked whole I can tolerate but creamed? One if the most disgusting thinks created! Riverwhy Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Tonight I'm planning on making a shepherds pie out of some smoked turkey. You can bet it will have plenty of those wonderful peas. I'm going to copy an idea I saw posted on here about putting ice cream shaped scoops of potatoes on top. I hope I can get that perfect lightly browned look. Terrierman, ness, rps and 1 other 4

If they are really cooked and soft, I can tolerate them. When I made gumbo the other night I cooked the crap outta them. When I make gumbo/etoufee the slow way, I use a poblano. Red bell peppers are better, and actually good if they're roasted. Raw green is what I cannot stand. John
