snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I'll tell ya what. Wagyu Wednesday at Sugarfire Smokehouse for the smoked wagyu brisket is pretty hard to top.

MOPanfisher Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Doesn't look like much in the photo but 6 more containers of strawberry freezer jam. This batch happens to be "cherry berry" jam. Pie cherries are ripening as are the strawberries, so obviously I had to mix about half pie cherries with the strawberries. Taste, basically strawberry with a cherry pie finish, pretty good but not as good as straight strawberry jam to me. Now if I just had some rhubarb to mix with the strawberries I would have some pie baking. tho1mas, Flysmallie, ness and 1 other 4
MOPanfisher Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Getting a little tired of the strawberries, picked enough pie cherries today (well my 18 yr old son and 83 yr old mother did any way), decided to make straight cherry jam, 5 cups of pie cherries pulsed in the Ole ninja chop o matic, 2.5 cups of sugar and a pack of sure gel later, and son of a gun I think I might like it better than cherry pie. Not quite as sweet as most cherry pies but just enough tart to give you a little "twinge" at the back of your throat. The half cup or so of chopped cherries mixed with a little sugar you could pour over tofu and make it taste good. tho1mas, Johnsfolly, ness and 2 others 6
ness Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Lotsa salads and/or eating out lately. I got nothing for this thread. John
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I went to the Food Truck Frenzy Saturday at the local Community College. Over 50 trucks, live music and plenty of beverages. I understand you pay up a little to have a truck bring it someplace but we all thought it was a little pricey. We had a great time in spite of it. People watching was A+. Thursday is a Sip and Savor of a bunch of restaurants at a local park. I've been attending for years. The Weekend is the Ribfest. Always good freak watching there. And then I head to Tablerock for the week!! ness 1
ness Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Sounds fun...Spent the weekend in Hermann, MO drinking and eating too much. I love German food, and we had some excellent examples over the weekend. Hermann Wurst Haus is a really great place with tons of different sausages, German sides, etc. Kind of like a deli, I guess. Best one of all was a carmelized pear bratwurst. Dang. Brought a bunch of stuff home from there. Also toured the wineries -- used the trolley so I didn't have to worry about driving. Man, it's more like a party bus than a trolley. Fun, but loud with 'kids music' blaring over the speakers. No, they didn't have any Fleetwood Mac or Eagles -- I asked. Had a few bachelorette parties in town and they were kinda fun to watch and talk to and give unsolicited advice to (like -- Don't do it!). Fun weekend! John
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Herman is nice. Used to be better before the open container law. You could walk from bar to bar downtown in the fall. I've been to a few weddings there too. ness 1
rps Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Something I found in the grocery yesterday: So would you call these split personality or bi-polar? BilletHead and ness 2
ness Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 Throw a Memphis dry rub on there and really mix it up! rps 1 John
