Yes some but I think I gained twenty pounds looking at your food pictures from the trip. Have not tried much new but I have been doing some sniping from the back porch shooting the faces off of squirrels. Up to fifteen since season opened and only lost one front leg. I was a bit off on that shot. Been looking up some recipes and found one we may try tomorrow using a few of the tree rats. Bought a new toy and tried it out last weekend making Sichuan fragrant duck for the umpteenth time (good stuff right there). Sucker born every minute and I hate Cabelas sale flyers but it will be used all the time. Better than heating up the house in this hot weather, Got a real good cure on the Wok. Just a rinse with hot water and wipe out after use. Fire up the burner or throw in the gas grill to dry. Who says there isn't an easy button? BilletHead Oh, man. That's REAL wok. BilletHead 1 John
BilletHead Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Well then this is a keeper! Purposely picked out three of the biggest toughest squirrels for the recipe. They turned out very, very tender. Not hard to make just smelling them as they cooked was the worst part . http://honest-food.net/2013/10/24/braised-squirrel-aurora-recipe/ Will be doing this again! Johnsfolly Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 BH - Look's awesome! I have not yet gone out for squirrels this season due to work, surgery, and NJ vacation. Now you have put the fire under me to try out this recipe. I would prefer a couple of squeals (young of the young "veal" squirrels), but with the braising in this recipe a couple of old fellows would work as well.

BilletHead That's a really unique sounding recipe. From your picture I figured green chiles or tomatillos. Not so! Interesting. So, the smell was bad? BilletHead 1 John
BilletHead Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 No the smell was out of this world! Pure torture waiting for the dish to finish. Kept opening the lid and taking a sniff. Pat kept telling me stay out and leave it alone. Vacuum sealed six more squirrels yesterday for later dishes. I will be polishing the leftovers off at lunch today and then it will be deer soft tacos for dinner. Chile Verde in the slow cooker for tonight. Small pork loin roast, a bunch of chopped onion, garlic, parsley, lemon pepper, chicken broth and a couple jars of Herdez green salsa. BilletHead 1 John

You could easily substitute squirrel for the pork and it would be awesome. ness and BilletHead 2
