If you're asking me I didn't buy them, much less cook them.

We used to use hot dog chunks soaked in some horrible home made brine when jug fishing.  I usually snagged one of the dogs before it went for the brine.  To soft for my taste in bait.  I like live bluegill at least I could make soup out of them if need be, or fillet some itty bitty fillets off of them.

This thread has veered to the dark side.

Well then let's make use of the dark side for a night.  What is the stranest thing you have eaten that you thought would be terrible but was actually pretty good.  For me it would be the old mountain oysters, one time I was into the cold beer enough with some friends who fried up a bunch of them, I ate them and despite my desire to hate them they were pretty good.  Other option would be menudo, flavor was great but the texture beat me down.

Last week on my way to Springfield I had an inspiration. I had passed a place in Republic called jalapeño Grill. It got me to thinking about the grilled jalapeños that I make. You know the ones with cream cheese and bacon.

Well somehow it got into my brain, what if I put some of those grilled jalapeños on a grilled cheese sandwich? Well let me tell you brother it is gold!!! That was the most delicious grilled cheese I have ever eaten in my life!

Sorry the pictures are cockeyed. Oh Ness??

Every year at our annual dove hunt, among other things there will be a couple pans of jalapenos cut in half and seeded, filled with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and baked in a foil pan.And you are right Chief they are GOLD.  I can only imagine that they would be even better in a good grilled cheese sammich.
