Cubed seasoned and browned chuck roast, three carrots in long heavy sticks, three stalks of celery same way, a rutabaga in about one inch cubes, two red potatoes same way, half a dozen nice sized brussell sprouts, a big red onion and half a left over Vidalia, can of diced tomatoes and a quart of beef bone broth, five or six good dashes of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire, one envelope of beef stew seasoning, and some bay leaf.. The meat is cooking right now, will add the vegetables after it's been going about 90 minutes at 350 in the blue roaster. Veggies are in. Needed a little more liquid so poured in a bottle of Heineken. Smells pretty good in the house. I like the way you cook -- on the fly! Some of my best meals happen that way. If it works, I'm big on writing it down so I can duplicate it. But sometimes I've tweaked it so many times I don't' get it right. tho1mas, BilletHead and Terrierman 3 John

tho1mas Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Deer burger is great for chili, no grease to drain & if you grind it course it is like Texas style.
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Texas style? Just what the heck is Texas style? I always hear Texas style this and Texas style that. Is it because a Texan made it? Is it really far superior than any and all others as they claim? Ever time I run across Texas style something or a Texas style recipe, it all looks just like what everybody else has done it for ever. Is it that if you put the name Texas in it it makes it better? I say to hell with Texas. I say to hell with Texas. We're having a Texas style baked sweet potato tonight. What makes it Texas style you might ask. Simple. One sweet potato that's big enough for three people. And about Texas. It's a great state with one big problem. It's full of Texans. KLiK, Johnsfolly and MOPanfisher 3
