Instapot has little appeal to me. The process means as much as the product, especially when the product is "nearly as good."

Chicken with rice pilaf and pan roasted broccoli.

On second thought that sounds incredibly snobbish. Please forgive me. I do not mean to judge; I only mean to state my preference.

Thank you.

I was skeptical myself, but have come around though. It’s a pressure cooker that also does other stuff. It has earned a place in my world. Judge it once you’ve used it.

My mother, bless her heart, cooked everything to death and on the highest heat available to make sure it was done as soon as it could be. She loved the pressure cooker.

I remember an evening when my brother in law and I took the entire family out to eat for a holiday at an excellent restaurant in Tulsa, The Chalkboard. Dan and I had agreed in advance whose turn it was to pick up the tab for my crazy sister who always ordered something expensive, created a scene, and stormed out of the place. In other words, we had a mellow, excellent evening planned. Mother sent her meat back as underdone. She sent it back a second time. The third time, the chef, in tears, came from the kitchen to beg her not to ruin her meal. She relentlessly asked for more done.

My scars have prevented me owning or using a pressure cooker. In this area, I am struggling NOT to judge.

Guess ya took that the wrong way Ness. Not meaning to insult or demean anyone. Wife uses. Will eat all and smile sweetly. Guess we have not forgot about our animosity on last trip.  I apologize. I was a drunken axhole on that one .

Not picking on you RPS but this is something I have never understood. Whose place is it for anyone to tell another how they want their steak cooked? Or what is acceptable to put on it? Or any other food for that matter.

Fair enough. I agree. If someone wants to put ketchup on filet mignon, I am good with that. My point was a bit different. Anyone raised in a crazy family where food and meals become politics and power picks up scars. One of mine is fast food through pressure cooking. Sorry about that. I will pull my bias back out of the discussion.

So, who do you think? Rams or Patriots?

I bet it was good. Risotto is fluid infused into rice with agitation to produce a creamy medium. I bet instapot does that really well.
