Not giving you grief. It looks great..Central grocery claims that they originated that sandwich. Their Mufaletta bread comes from Gambino's bakery. There are copy cat recipes online.for the bread and sandwich. Nawlins Po Boy bread comes from Leidenheimer's.

I read several recipes and then put a salad together. I used green stuffed olives, kalamata olives, capers, giardinieria, garlic, italian herbs, olive oil (almost cover), salt, and crushed red pepper flakes. After it melded I used the oil to brush the inside of the bread before I added the meats and cheese and salad. I used a take and bake loaf because that was what I had. If I were to buy bread for the sandwich, my choice would be ciabatta.

Thanks. Got to looking around and figured it'd be about like that for me too. Some recipes had just giardiniera, but I didn't think that would work very well. Love Mezetta giardiniera right out of the jar, but this needs the oil and of course olives, etc. Figure I'll mince up the giardiniara.

And I was thinking take and bake too. Sized appropriately for the appetite of the eaters.

You guys are killing me with the pasta shots and all this talk of bread. I'm trying the keto thing and I miss the bread especially. Don't miss the 20lbs I have lost though.

Good for you!

I really try to limit my carb intake, but the last month or so has seen some backsliding, and I can tell it in the belt.

Scroll backwards to the fish in foil post. That's probably keto-approved :D

I think the whole keto calculators said my carb intake should be around 30 per day but I've been going for as close to zero as I can. It's just hard when I'm traveling for work and I have been doing a bunch of that lately. If you go to a restaurant it's usually pretty simple but I hate going out to eat alone. I'm not starving by any means but I sure could use some pasta (with peas please), some bread, and about a half dozen orders of french fries!!!

Been low carb for almost 4 years.  Lost 27 and kept it off.  I rarely have more than 2-3 grams of sugar a day.  Carbs run 24-30 grams per meal and that's greens and potato starch.  Wheat once a week for my treat which is always pizza otherwise no wheat.  If I start to get the urge to eat in the evening I tell myself you can eat all the protein you want and that usually kills it.

That’s awesome. Only been doing it about a month but have a long ways to go. Trying for 1985 football weight which is still much bigger than most of you. That’s about another 55-60 pounds.

In 1985, at age 35, I weighed 152 pounds and ran a 15K in 67 minutes. Today I weighed 193 and couldn't run 100 yards. My goal over the the next year is to halve the weight difference and walk a 15k. You have to have a goal, right?

Goals are good. In 85 I was a junior in high school and played defensive end at 265. Benched 320 and could outrun most wide receivers if I got stuck in that situation. MCL tears in both knees ended all that fun. Knee replacements in the near future.
