While plying my trade of Worlds Greatest Grampa (it says so on my t shirt) my daughter requested that I make a pot of Jambalaya. sausage, chicken, shrimp, Krab, oysters, etc.etc.etc.  a little early in the year but when your grown daughter asks what are ya gonna do.  I might be smart enough to post the recipe too .

Wow -- this thread has heated up. Nice stuff, guys!

The ribs look great. I love Cajun/Creole, MOPanfisher -- that's got a little liquid to it. That's the way I like it. Sometimes it's served too dry. And Chief -- always with something interesting! Never heard or thought of grilling cabbage! I've got a half head in the fridge -- I may try that this weekend.

If you only have half a head, you may want to try it this way instead.

Just quater it, or in your case, half it.

Salt and pepper it and lay a strip of bacon across it. Wrap in foil and grill till soft.

Looking good there chief! We have done it with some of the heart cut out  of the whole head and replace divot with butter, S&P, wrap the head in foil and cook on the grill. We need to do the quarters like this. Have you tried a whole onion with divot cut out and replace with minced garlic, S&P, Wrap with foil and grill package until soft? Amazing!

I just throw the whole onion on. I leave the papery outside on and remover after grilling.

Talk about changing the flavor of an onion! You would have no idea how sweet they are!!

im going to try your way too!

On the cabbage I used to fill mine with BBQ   sauce. This one here I filled with bacon drippings.
