I might as well throw my numbers out there. 1996 Champion 202 w/ a 2005 Yamaha 200hp 3.3 HPDI, 8" rapid jack running 25 pitch tempest prop w/ shaft 3" below the pad. Fully loaded running 71mph GPS at 5750 rpm. Just purchased a 225 ECU and can't wait to get it hooked up. Hope to get my rpms up to 6 grand.

Balsabee pleeeeeeease forward me the results!

My stratos 200 with a 3.1 yamaha 200 has almost identical specs and results as you. I want to try a 26 pitch tempest because it holeshots great and winds out good.

sorry guys, i'm a little confused.

did ranger not make it, or did bass pro take the plans?

Yes, Ranger did make a Z series of boats a few years back that covered (I believe) the Z-19 thru Z-22. The new Z-21 Nitro is a completely different and unrelated critter.

^^ That is hilarious stuff right there!! (said a little boat owner)

:hope-my-fake-smile-works-again:

Don't know what the fuss is over. My little 115 gets me to 47 all day long. Bunch of slow-pokes......

Might not want to jump the gun to fast. Snowden is reportedly not getting the performance he wants out of his is the word on the street. Mid 60's. at best.

I'm getting a new boat package put together right now, and have been talking to reps all over the place. Word on the street is that next year, you may see some type of a Triton Cross hull under the Nitro cap and it may be a real runner.

As Champ said the investment there was more in technology then it was in boat companies. It is not as easy as you may think to engineer a performance hull.

In 2016 or 2017 Nitro may have the best one on the market, but I don't think its this one. Yet.

Again, you can see from this post, I'm not bashing in the least, just what talk is going around from the reps. I think they are close to being on something pretty good.

I'm also sure that, that boat was offered to several of our local guides and they turned it down in favor of the Z9 for this go around of 2015.

I'm sure more to come and I'm thinking it will be very good for them.

Here are some performance facts not word on the street. During a photo boat in Florida 3 weeks ago the Z21 GPS hit 72 with 2 guys full fuel and medium load. Hit 73 as it ran fuel out. The boat pops out of the hole with a heavy load and turns great. Nitro believes performance is not just top end speed, although low 70s with a 21'2" boat is very acceptable. Brian Snowdens boat had similar results and the 65 mph load was with 600 lbs of people(3), 150 lbs at the very nose of the boat, full fuel, live wells full and 150 lbs for gear. Absolute worse case scenario. With 2 people full tank and average gear they saw GPS speeds of 70-71. The boat goes into production in mid March and won't see boats offline until end of April to May. Guides were not offered Z21's nor did they turn them down, they were encouraged to run the Z9 this year until full production begins. These are the facts not scuttlebutt.

Eric's information thru Mike Webb is much better than mine. I'm sure he is correct for the pro-staff. Guides here that could get one, it would come thru Pro-Choice, with an April Delivery Apples to apples between 3 and 4 grand over the Z9 similar equipment.

Just checked with them again and all said it was to be available to them for an late April to May 1 delivery.

Glad to hear the performance is as good as he is giving us. That is super. And of course what I had heard was word on the street from guys that are driving Nitro.

Had heard of course that Brian's boat had run 63 Did not hear that there was 1,300 pounds of weight in the boat, not counting the motor, Really minus the third person that is a common tournament load. 1000 to 1,200 pounds.

Good Information, Thanks

The thing is 21ft long right. I don't see it being common for a 21ft boat going near 80 with a 250 where a 19 and 20 can with a light load. Why not a 300? Weight wise I could see the need for the increase hp. For the speed demons. :-)

Maximum horsepower in many tournaments, including BASS and FLW Tour events, is 250 hp.
