Champ188 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 He kind of reminds me of a high school buddy. He could start telling jokes right now and continue till tomorrow, I don't think he has ever forgotten one. Like Donna's brother Red, as I'm sure you recall from our white bass trip a few years back.

If your name is Red, it's pretty much a lock that you are a character. I know 3 people that go by Red....every last one of them is a riot in their own right. Champ188 and ZX190Jones 2
moguy1973 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 LOL SOLD OUT (for the most part) http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Sworming_Hornet_Fish_Head_Spin/descpage-SHFHS.html -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
dtrs5kprs Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 They are soooo easy to make. Just need some stainless wire, swivels, and blades. Maybe beads if you want them, or a clevis if you want two blades.
Champ188 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 What's really funny is that all of the 1/8-oz size are sold out. Those guys are gonna have lots of fun getting a 1/8-oz head/Fluke down to 35-40 feet, providing their intent is to re-create Ashley's pattern.

It can be done with the 1/8 RR and also with the Ned, but that fluke would be a drag to fish that deep on a 1/8 head.
Champ188 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Donna and I actually fished the Ned at 35 feet Saturday. Caught several fish doing it. This weather has to warm up soon. This deep-sea fishing is killing my reputation as a bank beater. uptonfish, abkeenan and fishingaddiction 3

What's the drop rate of a Ned jig vs a groundhog hair Ned jig? To be honest I was surprised you didn't "unleash the beast" at the Classic expo. Missed a golden opportunity if you ask me. Coulda been the difference in winning or losing for Rojas had he been loaded to the hilt with special rodent tied Neds. Probably would have banned them for the upcoming event at the Sabine River they were so unfair to fish. Would have made the A-Rig look like using a shoelace to catch fish. Could have been an instant millionaire and sitting court side with Coach K giving him inbound play pointers on the dry erase board. But noooooooooooooo. You let me down Dave. You let us all down. fishingaddiction and Champ188 2

It seems like all my guides would freeze over before the 1/8oz touched down in the abyss.
